Barren mod for Half-Life 2

It is the future, mankind left its cradle and conquered the stars in the form of the Empire of Detroia. A mere 30 years after its formation resources started to stretch and so the populations massed on the centre planets only using the old worlds, the so-called ‘barrens’, as giant deposits of resources and letting the old cities turn to dust. These worlds are owned by the government, but there are rebellious groups within Detroia.

These groups of bandits are collectively known as the Rebels, and they seek control of key resources in the Barrens. The Detroian Empire have created a special task force to watch over the Barrens and to eliminate the Rebel threat; the Overwatch.

Equipped with the latest weaponry and technology, the Overwatch are the keepers of the barrens. Without the Overwatch’s sanction, no-one can make planet-fall in the Barrens. Those who do not comply suffer the consequences.

This is a squad based take and hold death match game. Despite the complex name, the gameplay is simple; both sides are attempting to capture an objective. For the Overwatch to win, they must hold the objective when the timer runs out (default= 5 min). For the Rebels to win, they must take and harvest the resources from the objective (takes 1 min default). Should the time run out with the Rebels in possession and the Rebels haven’t harvested all the resources, they must hold till they win or the Overwatch take the objective back and win by default.
