I cannot remember if it's been mentioned or not, but will it be possible to create, change or abolish alliances?

so far as I know it's not possible to do make or break alliances once a game has been started. you can create new teams or eliminate them altogether by making changes to the mg_campaign.tgi file.

currently there is an allied team and an axis team.

we've got sixteen factions in WW2 right now. more than this and I deal with a lot of game crashes. I'd love to add Belgium, Bulgaria, Communist China, and Yugoslavia into the new WW2 map. but I'm not sure if that's possible.

the obvious solution is to create a variety of custom-made defensive armies. none of these nations could seriously consider launching a major offensive like what we see on the WW2 map anyways. I've already added a Belgian defensive army and it works out great.

That sounds like a good idea, What countries do you think will have defensive armies? (Besides Belgium)

new defensive armies in WW2 will include
Belgium (multiple territories, played via Netherlands)
Bulgaria (played via Hungary)
Communist China (multiple territories, played via Nationalist China)
Greece (played via Great Britain)
Yugoslavia (played via Soviet Union)

we've re-partitioned a lot of the territories and added more garrisons. (these are purely defensive infantry-only armies). this way players will spend more time fighting some of the new minor factions instead of steam-rolling over minor territories without a fight.

Wouldnt it make more sense to not have the Phillipines as a seperate faction? It was a territory of the US since the 1900's I believe .

mostly I had the Philippines separated because it was too easy for US players to upgrade the territory. I didn't really want to see Sherman rocket tanks, jet fighters, and Hellcat tank destroyers getting spammed as though they were being built right there on the islands.

it made things a bit more difficult for US players to win the game. especially since, in WW2 mode, the US is a very wealthy faction.

Why are Hungary and Finland making more money than Italy? Why is Italy's income so low?

the plan is to have 20-25 dollars for each capital territory. this way every playable faction can at least generate an infantry army or research a cheap tech every turn. each faction starts off the war with $100 to purchase vital armies and upgrades early on.

Description

I still need to change the shadow projections for the various countries. and I'd like to change the French icons.

the best part about adding Poland and Romania is that it balances out the WW2 game. earlier Germany would devote all of its forces against France and the Netherlands. having Poland to the east makes the German AI behave more realistically.

separating Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria into different territories makes it easier for Russia to advance against Germany. in the past, Eastern Europe featured defensive armies from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, and Romania. this made it an extremely difficult territory to conquer!

we've added lots of new territories-- many of which aren't visible on this map. I'll post some more snapshots in progress over the weekend.

we obviously missed our September patch deadline. sorry, folks. but real life events intervened. we're still making progress, though.
