earlier versions of the Mod have used the Goliath and the Springer demolition tanks. I've decided to replace the Springer with the Borgward IV. the Borgward will have higher health and attack values. and the model (based on a French armored tractor) looks more appropriate compared to what we had earlier. these vehicles are very vulnerable to enemy fire, though. so you'll need to keep them away from AT infantry. on the bright side, if they connect on point they'll inflict 982 points of blast damage against up to 4 targets. so they're great for crippling enemy tank regiments or flattening a cluster of enemy depots.
Should we make the skin grey to be more in line with the other German skins?
That would seem nice, though that wouldn't be too much of a priority. Anyway will it be able to damage infantry? I discussed this with gizmo awhile back.
imo make other German units have Camos instead, expect for early units like pz2s ofc
I've got a grey skin for the regular temperate terrains now. I'm doing some tests so that the goliath can be used in it's historical roles:
destroying barbed wire and other obstacles
clearing enemy minefields
killing entrenched infantry
(and all of the traditional in-game uses as well)
the Borgward IV is really powerful. I think it's wasted on infantry, to be honest. better to use it to cripple enemy heavy tank regiments, artillery tanks, or the Corps HQ.
the most recent upload (aka last winter) was supposed to have Goliath units capable of killing infantry and minefields-- but I see that my codework was faulty-- since I'm not observing that in the games I've played recently. will give it another go.
If I remember correctly, I sent the code for the goliath to be able to damage infantry to gizmo. What I did was create a new attack and adding priority attack to buildings and vehicles. Meaning when the goliath attacks, it will go after vehicles and buildings first then infantry. Last I added on death damage much like when planes crash. The reason for this is that whatever attack the goliath uses on one type of enemy, then the other type of enemy takes no damage.
