A little Sneakpeak...it not final... maybe Alpha...
Ohhh.
:D
All those blast marks and scratches are really going to hurt the resale value.
They'll buff out.
Ahhh... The progenitor of the Star Destroyer line.
Technically that would be the Acclamator as it pioneered the space triangle design for the Republic.
Oh... you're right about that. My bad.
No it wouldn't, The aclamator is not a star destroyer and was not even designed for space combat. It originally had very few onboard weapons and what fighters it carried were more for ground attack and support. It was only later, after the empire, that they were updated for space combat. If you are looking for a progenitor that isn't a star destroyer in and of itself, you mean the Harrower star dreadnought from the sith wars
The Harrower is classified as a Star Destroyer. The progenitor is the Interdictor-Class Cruiser which spawned the Centurion-Class Battlecruiser, which in turn spawned the Harrower-Class after one or two of those made it into the hands of Vitiate's secret empire.
The harrower is classified as a dreadnought. It's on Wookieepedia
Only in design terms though as the Acclamator is not a capital ship.
It's a Troop Transport/Assault Ship hybrid and while with 752 meters length it could qualify as a heavy cruiser (like the Vindicator-class), its weaponry was only average.
The Venator on the other hand is a true capital ship, specifically a medium capital ship/carrier hybrid with more emphasis on the carrier role.
@admiralthrawnbar:
The claim of "very few" onboard weapons isn't exactly true as the Acclamator does have quite some armament that is also very versatile considering it consists of twelve Quad-Turbolaser cannons (effective against Corvettes and Frigates at least in space combat), 24 Point-Defense Laser Cannons (fighters don't like these) and 4 Proton Torpedo Launchers.
It is true that the Acclamator cannot be reasonably counted among the Star Destroyer family, but saying that it was worthless/totally unsuited for space combat isn't exactly right either since Acclamators could very well serve in a medium frigate role during space battles or, if most of the ground force equipment was removed in favor of fighters, as escort carriers.
One of the primary advantages/traits of the Galactic Republic ships like the Acclamator or the Venator is that they are almost all dual-role hybrid ships.
make all the turrets fire super lazers :P
It will get Quad Turbolaser Turrets, a little Refit from the Black Sun Engineers :)
How many squadrons is it going to have?
Same as it does currently
it looks very cartoonish... i hope it will come out looking like the munificent
It will :)
Bekommen die dann anstelle der Turbolasser Massetreibergeschütze? Bin echt schon drauf gespannt
Nein, die Massetreiber sind zu ungenau auf große Distanzen. Sie nehmen eher die Rolle von Flaks ein, bisschen wie bei Battlestar Galactica.
If the Black Sun Venator has quad turbolaser cannons instead of the regular turrets, does that mean a Black Sun Venator is stronger than a Imperial Venator?
jip, but it have some other weaknesses.
Does it have less armor perhaps?
