An Open Window is an experimental MOD for Half-Life 2, Episode 2. In this project I will attempt to bring the concept of different realities to life in a realistic scenario. Instead of being another Shooter, AnOpWi centers around the role of the player and his/her experience, emotion and memories. By interacting with the world the player will define his own reality within the story. For this project I chose an open development cycle, which means I will update very frequently and share every step I take in the process of creating this game. Next to the regular media updates, I will also share my thoughts on the different areas of game design in the form of articles. In every article I will also ask for your opinion with the Question of the Day. This MOD also functions as a knowledge base for new and experienced designers.

That pretty much sums up one of our bathrooms except the walls are grey too. So much grey. Front end loaders are so sexy

Hmm you need to change the toilet i never see toilets like that anymore unless your in the UK in old buildings and make that window a bit darker also take out that washing machine. Then you have yourself a modren looking bath room. But over all its a very well made bathroom

Please disable shadows on the toilet or at least change the shadow controller so all shadows point directly downward.
A washing machine goes in the kitchen...
Where in the general scheme of life does the rulebook say that the washing machine goes in the kitchen? Hmm
The washing machine can really go anywhere in a house in all fairness. For me we have an area in the house called a scullery where most of the washing takes place and it usually is an area between the kitchen and the toilet. I have seen washing machines in the kitchen and the bathroom. Really it can go anywhere that there is tiles the main reason being that if there is a leakage the tiles will be safe where as a wooden floor or carpet would be destroyed.

I like the way you incrementally showed the build from dev textures right up to the final rendered scene. Goes to show that the source engine can still make some really beautiful kick *** graphics

My washing machine and dryer go with the freezer in the basement. Hurrp Durr Hah'hurr.
i have my washing machine in the bathroom, and i know quit a lot of people that have it there too. so, don't bother to listen to these comments that say you have to take the machine out of there, they are silly. and about the toilet, in my country they are quit commen.
just keep going on, this looks great, and i loved the FEAR games so i will track this mod from now on, am really interested to see where this goes...!
