Pelta class Assault Ship image - Alliance at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption

This was really a join effort all made possible by Gowron. It took a lot to get this into AaW. I was back and fourth with all the modders mentioned above. This is the Modified Pelta-class Assault Ship.

Treat this ship as the Rebel equivalent to the Lancer-class Frigate, but not one-to-one and with some trades-offs. The Lancer has more guns, but they do not hit as hard. This has less, but they hit harder. As this ship is mainly anti-starfighter, all though it can challenge corvettes as well, players may now want to know the point of the CR90 and GR-75 C.R. I do my best to make every ship still feel as though it can have a place late game. Remember the GR-75 C.R. offers a passive fleet bonus, so it can still be important late game; the CR90 outshines the GR-75 C.R. in the anti-starfighter department, but does not offer any passive fleet bonuses. The Pelta can take out starfighters quicker than both of them, but is mainly effective in whichever direction it is pointed at.

If a ship goes braodside, it will now be limited to two cannons on either side. Its forward fire arcs are around 45 degrees to the left and the right. As with the Lancer Frigate, this comes with the point-defense ability. The original Pelta was armed with point-defense laser cannons, I see no reason why that cannot carry over to the modified version. As with any ship with the word "assault" in its name, it can use the Assault ability. I hope players enjoy the addition of this assault ship.
