The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.

It looks not bad, it looks like bf2142, but what i dont like is it looks way too like motor cross armor, it looks out of preportion, some of the padding is too small even for light armor, the genital gaurd is a good idea but it looks too smalls like uncomfertable nuthugerish. i dont like the helmet really the earparts looks like a flight deck attendent, and the dome shape is not very intimidating but the visor is cool. I would suggest bigger more sqaured armor pads and maybe a crotch flap instead of panties. also i would give it large boots the shoes look like booties, sorry if you put that model in the game that would be exceptable, i just think these are the things that could be better thank you sorry to troll

I like the overall look, and the alternativ leg armor. What I dislike is the shoulder pads, and the ear gear of the helmet. I would welcome if there was a side shot of the helmet, and the shoulder pads could be a little bit bigger and different surface.

1. I think the shoulder pads you see here are the light armour shoulder pads. Take a look at the EU light armour ones from vanilla 2142, they looked kind of small and pathetic-ish aswell. I guess we just need to design some heavy ones and when you decide to use heavy armour in the customisation screen, you get better looking shoulder pads + more protective gear on your legs and arms.

2. And about the ear wear on the helmet, what's wrong with them? Did you just want a side view of the helmet or something?

In my opinion, the shoulder pads and ear pieces look perfect! I think it was a VERY important idea to put armor over the genetial area, I would want that if I was wearing it! Who would want a bullet in their... you know.

He will have a backpack like the EU and PAC soldiers always have. We haven't designed one yet and this is the front view.

Looks a cross between GDI soldier and a dirt biker.
Helmet's alright but looks a little eggy from the front.
I think if you cut down the thick outline on top of the helmet, it wouldn't appear that way
To complete the feel you've got going, I'd say use the shin guard.

If you're up to a slight overhaul, I'd suggest having no armor portions larger than the plates on his thighs. The reason is threefold: Using layered plates is less expensive for armor manufacturers and organizations that buy armor. Damaged plates can be swapped out where needed and you'll never run into the problem of "We're out of torso plates". They also allow a greater degree of mobility. Of course, it helps the illusion of the armor plates are stored in canvas pockets on the character's body. I just get the feeling, looking at this image that the chestplate isn't inside a pocket, but just strapped on. That feeling may change when this gets to the modeled stage.

Not to say your current design doesn't allow for mobility, it's rather agile-looking as light armor should be. You might take the above list of reasons into consideration for heavy armor, though, as when people select heavy armor, it implies they're going to be getting shot at more. So realistically, heavy armor would be the guys getting their armor plates swapped out more often. For the record, I just always assumed getting healed involved some sort of armor maintenance as well as treating wounds.

I love the helmet, I think the suit looks perfect. You did a really good job and the only thing I suggest is adding an antenna of some sort (like Commander Cody's from Star Wars on his shoulder) and a microphone for talking, kind of like the one on Jinzors avatar.

This is what I think the NAC soldier should look like (roughly). Need to get someone to model and skin this, otherwise there won't ever be a mod release with the NAC.


• No hands in this concept because we already got a pair of cool looking ones for the model, they're already being used for the 1p NAC team hands.

• Front view, no back view yet.

• Recon helmet shown on the right.

• Camo - Digital Urban+Arctic for snow maps like Minsk (Not final colour scheme or camo pattern. But the visor (I think) should definitely be that colour for all colour schemes of the NAC soldier, even in the desert/tropical/orbital versions)
