Hey NightRider I have a quick question about the mod: Will there be pistol ironsights?
I don't know if it's a bug but the Hermit never seems to ask me to find cards in exchange for items anymore. He only did it once in the beginning of the story but never again. Do I have to spam E on him or something like that?
Thanks for clearing things up. I never thought about the deflection bit and with that in mind I think the sequence is actually pretty brilliant.
I have a question for the writers for this mod. I'm only halfway through Chapter One and most of your work is fantastic. Keyword here is most. I'm having trouble understanding why Matt's rant about the government was included at all. It didn't really seem to offer anything to the story or even go anywhere. Everyone follows orders, okay. It would be better if that rant was shortened and the comparison between Matt's superiors and the prison's was better emphasized, otherwise I would've axed most of that sequence or saved it for a side conversation. So far that's my only major complaint about the writing. I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt and assume it was the result of overambition rather than shoehorning in personal beliefs no matter how true they may or may not be irl.
Glad to hear that you found a solution for the hogs' bonesets. It'd be a shame if players without Dragonborn could not experience the mod, and I never would've guessed that the cow boneset could work out so well.
Would future compatibility with SkyTest: Realistic Animals and Predators be a possibility?
Unfortunately the only boneset which could possibly fit the hogs are the bristlebacks added in by Dragonborn.
So if you want a generic modern FPS he should give it to you?

I am aware that the trailers won't always completely represent the true nature of the beast known as Misery, but I just wish that they were just as professional as everything else the dev team has released thus far (no offense to the hard-working video editors). Just my two cents. I eagerly look forward to the next release of Misery. However, for now I think I'll stick to the pictures.
I'd like to provide some constructive criticism about Misery's trailers in general considering how odd the latest combat trailers have turned out. Yes they're just trailers, yes we can make our own videos when the mod is out and yes Misery 2.0 will probably be great, but that doesn't mean we should praise every aspect of it constantly. Some good criticism can make the mod that much greater. Now, on to my points.
The way the devs generally tell us eager fans about the mod is extremely well handled. They offer us pictures which are visually pleasing and representative of the mod as well as inform us about gameplay features. It thus saddens me that the videos which are released are so weak in comparison. They're usually ten minute slideshows of texture work or gameplay videos which hardly represent the tension and survival aspects of Misery to their fullest.
It's why I have a problem with a video advertising a reasonably masochistic survival mod which shows the player destroying hundreds of soldiers with a grenade launcher, and it's why I'm bored to tears of a brown and white slideshow describing features better illustrated in a news article or a picture. If anything, I'd prefer dev commentaries. Nothing hypes me up for a mod more then hearing what great features it will have from a calm, soothing voice while watching them in action. We already know that Call of Pripyat is a competent shooter by today's standards and we certainly don't need to be reminded that Misery won't ruin this. A better combat video would've had a dev commentating while playing, saying, "Here I'm scouting out the area. I have very little ammo and will have to pick my engagements carefully. Here is where stealth can be a good tactic before starting an all-out gunfight," etc, etc.
Somehow it worked itself out and I could play the mod fine again. Thanks for tip though.
Installed it, played survival, then exited the game. Later I started SA up again and pressed new game, but it keeps crashing. The only other mod I have is MTA, but that shouldn't be too conflicting. Any advice?
If I already installed MTA will it mess up the installation of this mod?
Dogtown would this be of any help?
Its a modder resource which adds new spawnpoints based on geographical location.
Um why is it a bad thing that CSGO's gameplay and balance is "dated?" Do you want it to have ironsights and crap? Then it wouldn't be CS.
Not supposed to be the point, just to slightly show the disturbing side of the antagonist. This is why I hate it when some mods make it to the front page. Complete idiots will assume the worst.
Hi, relevance here. Miss me yet?
So um a mod set in the 50's will make you feel like you're back in a completely different decade that you didn't even get to experience? What?
Ohoho, this is gonna be fun.
Don't know about you guys, but I had fun with it.
Great job on this. I'm a bit concerned about how the next parts will play out, seeing as combat would probably be required. Also, one of the characters seemed to have an Australian accent for a short bit near the end. Otherwise this looks extremely promising in my eyes and I'm eagerly looking forward to the release of part two. :)
rip jlea
died in a car crash this mornin well miss u 19?4-2011
Flares sound fun. Sucks that I couldn't get in the alpha because I don't live near you guys but I'll wait for release.
I was excited that this mod was going to be worked on again. :(
On steam hopefully, but on sale is unlikely, despite the quality being on par with AAA games.
Looks really impressive for a Source mod.
