Apparently, it's a web comic. A bonus. Look at the website of it, you'll see it updates once per week.
Some games have comics to accompany the game story, for example: Mass Effect series.
But you know what is the best part? This comic is providing us the backstory to Tales from the Galactopticon while we wait for the real deal. I presume the backstory won't be told inside the game then. And we can also presume the comic won't be touching the game plot either.
I have to say, leading up to NNKs release, the updates on this mod's progress were weekly but after the release of R1 there has been barely any word. Gathering info from here and there it's clear that the mod isn't dead, just pretty much on hiatus because of EsF co-project.
But it'd be a nice to get some info on the status for good old days sake when weekly Friday updates were something to look forward to. ;)
Chivalry has been on my shopping list for a while now and now after IOTY2012 and watching em Criken videos, it surely and steadily has become a Must Buy for me.
Black Mesa's Mod of The Year award has been coming from looooooong time ago. Considering they won the Best Upcoming Mod Award and many Honorable Mentions after that due to a mod that has won the award previous year can't be awarded again.
Also, in the past we used to complain that there are too many Source mods on the list. Well, now I'm going to complain that there are too many Company of Heroes mods on the list. xD
Actually, I find Black Mesa's marines to be brilliant. They are the marines, special forces and all that, they are supposed to be tough motherfuckas! If you ask me, you can't outflank professional soldiers if you are a SINGLE MAN! Flanking works if there is more than one of you, heh. So in my opinion Black Mesa team has recreated the marines as something more than gun wielding mooks and that is all for the better.
And six years after saying "I want this, oh yes!" I got it. And was not disappointed, oh no.
And not even once in those six years I forgot to check for any kinds of updates for the project because, well, I really really wanted to play the game that defined the first great storyline for me, a game that brought brain into my brawn in a brand new coat of current gen. And now I can.
Well, affecting metal with magnet generates heat and doing so with a series of massive super powerful magnets would generate a lot of it causing the slug to glow in some color of hot, like yellow or perhaps even white hot. And since the slug is fired off at VERY* high speeds, it would perhaps indeed appear as beam of light though what you see is just the trail of light left behind by the slug. Like the falling stars(burning debris) in the night sky.
*Halo claims it's fired off at 120 000 kilometres per second which is about four tenths of light speed. That is for Super MAC, normal MAC is "just" 30 000 kph.
If you are interested in seeing an awesome (gruesome) deconstruction of magical girl genre, then "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" is for you. All is nice, flowery magical girl series for the first two episodes... and then episode 3 happens. It is not nice. And then things turn out to be not so nice at all. Til episode 11 happens. It turns out to be even worse.
It's most probably possible to climb up from tester position, I know it's possible around here. One day you are tester, the next day you are programmer. Not a matter of days though.
Show off your skill sometime, maybe they'll pick you up. ^^
Head that can be used for communicating, for eating, for making expressions, for opening beer bottles, for opening jars, opening doors, mowing the grass, chopping down trees, hammering in nails and so on.
Who cares about physics if you have pretty graphics! =D
And there I was shunning those new age game players who completely ignore the game's story, gameplay mechanics and characters and complain endlessly about "poor" graphics.
And now I giggle like a little girl at the thought of this technology in my games. I have betrayed myself. The Inquisition of Me will burn me on a stake.
Well, I can guess if you haven't played frist DX, you won't even notice related easter eggs and those who did play will probably be glad in "Oh, look, I know that" way.
Ahhh, love the photorealism of this mod, really, some screenshots make half believe that it's a photo you took on street to base a map design upon but no, it actually is a map.
Hush, it looks awesome. ;P
Hey, I guess I should then just go and replay it!
I love it so I'll be watching this!
Beautiful drawn and the dark humor is there and fitting.

Ah, I see! His weak spot is his haircut! Throw a few insults at it and he becomes insecure and goes to hairdresser to get a new one!
Kill the framerate? *looks at his PC*
I dunno, modern PCs should have more than enough resources to handle the double amount of ships on screen.
Strapped a saddle on a jet engine. xD
WHAT!?
I wasn't expecting this! Sneaky sneaky, I'm installing it right now!

NOT QUITE!!! =0

Thank you, BM Dev Team and Co.
PS: Can't wait for the final part!
4 years later and this trailer is still amazing. :D
And amazingly Black Mesa hasn't seen release yet. =D

Unbeatable move!
Now you can do awesome kung fu scenes that make characters look incompetent in the actual game play!
Like severe child abuse by a guy who the kid looks up to. ^^;
If you watch the movie that's basically alternate universe, it's EVEN WORSE.

I want to strangle that...
"You two, I'm your captain! Protect me! And someone get me a coffee while you are at it!"

The only thing it's unable to do is smile.

It looks cartoonish because it looks like it's cel-shaded. Totally not model's fault but rather it's HW2 engine itself that makes it appear like that.
Just my face? I can live with that.
Which is a great game, heh.

You can turn off the highlights, you know. Hints too. And eastereggs can be ignored.
