At the moment our focus is just getting the final touches and bug fixes done for the final M&B release. Later we may look at redoing some features of the mod after we've ported to Warband.
Yeah we had alot of debates about how to balance Lore Accuracy vs Sandbox Gameplay. We basically decided to just loosely base the game within the Rebellion Era along with all the iconic characters from that period.
This way it allows a more 'alternative universe' based upon sandbox gameplay.
The mod is focused around 1ABY/Galactic Civil War/Original Trilogy. Unfortunately Korriban didn't play a big role in this time period so due to the limitation of time and other resources it wasn't added. Possibly when we port to Warband it maybe added.
I think this is actually a bad compile, our internal version doesn't have all these issues.

There were plans to add some thing like that, the models are made for them just haven't been added. So at the moment, you have to fight them in custom battles.

If you create your own empire you can set the culture to "Mandalorian" and therefore create your own Mandalorian Empire.

Think we've tracked down and fixed most of crashes now.
No estimiation on release yet.
To recruit B1 Battledroids you need to build a droid foundry on a planet you own then wait for it to produce B1 droids for you.
Trying to identify a crash issue:
Those running 9.4-preview:
Load up a new game and start as "Rebel" faction.
Then once in game get into a battle and choose "Fight on the Ship".
Let me know what happens when you do that.

You can always download the Original M&B free trial and play mods on that, though it does have a level cap.
Steam is often selling M&B for only £3, so it's worth a buy. :)

Yeah this is the unstable - "0.9.4-Crashes-All-The-Time-Version".
0.9.3 is a little out dated, but stable. :)

You can always just download the M&B free trial and play Star Wars Conquest on the Trial Version of M&B. Though M&B is often on sale on Steam fairly cheap, so it's worth a buy. :)

Yeah to repeat what Swyt said, it's incredibly humbling to have this project within the top 100 mods of 2012 with out any promotion, it truly shows how awesome our players are.
