Love medieval and Celtic stuff. Big fan of Tolkien.
First off, great music. It gets you right in the feel of medieval Spain. Then, upon actually playing the game, it becomes almost immediately very immersive. The characters, landscape and cities are not only very polished, but molded in a way to increase their liveliness. Bards play in taverns, customers surround shopkeeps and whether it's in a city or a battle, the heightened atmosphere makes you feel a part of this world. Warband has always had the potential for this style, and Hispania 1200 may just have realized it. Plus, it is greatly refreshing to experience a true early medieval setting, without all that clunky plate armour getting in the way.
It may not be totally historically accurate, but it feels authentic for the time depicted, which is what the modder set out to do. I also love the historic references in loading screens, and the mod as a whole is very immersive. However, many parts seem uncompleted, but these are minor distractions from an overall fun mod.
Really needs a mod to improve gameplay. It'd be awesome if EA released the tools to do so.
Expecting great things to come.
