The idea of this mod reminds me of my crappy TS Pro mod. Except this is not halfassed and terrible. Will it work online with people who don't use it?

TS should be referenced for balancing and strategies just like graphics and story. To do otherwise would be retarded. This is TS after all. I am sorry for all the **** talking about this mod. It is cool.

Also, it's always amazing to see a what looks like dead failed project all of a sudden get a **** ton of attention like this mod. Tiberian Sun always felt like an underdog C&C especially with how EA treated future C&Cs in relation to it. Pretty cool to see this mod and other mods bringing back TS and getting tons of support as soon as they become something more tangible than a pipe dream. Good motivation to never give up on a project that you love.

Balance is one of the things that can make or break a RTS game. It’s one of the hardest things to do on the design side of the product since you’re essentially trying to optimize an equation with dozens of independent variables. If you get it wrong, you’ll have a boring game and a horde of disgruntled fans cursing your name forever. When the issue of balancing comes up, you’ll often hear about the “rock-paper-scissors” idea, but I like to think of it more in terms of a chess game. You’ve got a lot of different pieces, each with a unique function and set of strategies that takes a long time to master."

eliminate the spam! no starcraft C&C3 and other game unit spam strats. large maps veinhole monsters storms emp cannons hero units quick transports slow moving units weak units units designed for specific purposes like jump jet not a viable spammable unit etc all designed to prevent such things. also dont forget to remove fog of war from default game

remember though popular ts strats like infantry rush and the other player selling refineries to get money back and men to fight the oncoming infantry as well as running over wit harvs. another popular strat was early titan rushing followed by disruptor rush by the time the titans got there. very popular strats like those. i know assassin mentions the money to value balancing they also mentioned but i havent personally seen him talk about this other stuff. do it right.

I've always been one of Tiberian Sun's biggest fans. Although I thought the campaign was epic along with the entire atmosphere of the game, what really drew me in was the multiplayer. I hope you guys cover that very well as that's what means the most to me above all else. If you can't pull that off then the game will be a dud to me. So far it looks amazing. Please try to get the TS gameplay feel as accurate as possible. disruptor positioning by buildings to do more damage quicker, microing orca bombers to do more damage aka power bombing a structure and killing a construction yard, refinery, or war factory with only 3 rather than 4. Microing mammoth mkii on carryall to rail through buildings quickly pick up and fire again. MKII should have a quick turning rate along with all the other units if they dont already. This can be game breaking. Look at emperor battle for dune. very responsive units compared to later 3d C&C style games. Making certain units a pain to use could severely damage core gameplay mechanics that were heavily used in TS. same with units with a turret being able to fire while moving. Very important when doing titan rushes etc. Please try to balance the game similar to ts so its not large armies vs large armies. thats one of the biggest things they tried to do with TS over all other RTS games at the time. dont forget it.lots of TS fans dont appreciate this.

I gotta say this mod is turning out nicely. It's hard to believe that the Cargo plane model (forget what it's called) that I modeled will actually be in a game. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a troll. I really wanted to help work on Tiberian Sun Rising back then and not this mod. Tiberian Dawn was a cool game. I remember playing the crap out of it as a little kid... Tiberian Sun turned TD into a sack of crap though. Just really pushed C&C forward with its new strategies and technologies. I'd never think of looking back to Dawn era thus this mod doesn't interest me. I'm still however shocked to see the good progress of this mod. It's no doubt currently the best remake of TD that I've seen so far. But like I said... It's a dated game and I'd never play it again. Even my beloved Tiberian Sun is too dated for me to care about as cool as Tiberian Sun Rising and C&C Reborn look I can't help but focus on other games now...

You should reconsider letting people like Cypher and Alex06 in on this project of yours. Both of them are the kind of people who will sit and wait for something to become big before trying to get in on it while not really contributing anything other than their own delusional lines of texts because they love to have people listen to them talk. I assure you that you DO NOT NEED them in your projects and their names should not be marked in your hard work. Plus, they have in the past said Tiberian Sun was a bad game in defense of C&C3 so that they could remain high ranking community members. Alex06 is a joke of a person. Cypher is only credible because he managed to snoop is way into planetcnc but besides that he is a complete lying joke of a person who sits on the C&C forums all day making up excuses out of his *** in defense of EA waiting for himself to get promoted for being a loyal dog. You don't need people like them to write scripts for this game and if they do I certainly will not be reading them and I will be appalled at you for letting this happen.

Kick those lazy idiots out.

i kind of prefer the mcv to be a common unit and building that looks the same for both factions. same with the refinery and silo but then again tiberian dawn had a common power plant while tiberian sun didnt. still...

Since I'm no longer going to buy C&C4 this is the only "game" I'm still interested in. I hope all goes well on this at least.

My worries would be having units move too slowly, and lacking better gameplay that Tiberian Sun, and that's about it... I'd offer to help but it prob wouldn't go very well. Oh well. Time will tell.
