Tiberian Sun Rising is a total conversion for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars! Tiberian Sun Rising brings back GDI and Nod battling it out during the Second Tiberium War, retelling Tiberian Sun as never before. This isn't just a remake of the hit title C&C Tiberian Sun. It is a mod making Tiberian Sun as it should have been originally so expecting lots of new fun and originality while sticking to the feel Tiberian Sun had. Taking the mindset that this is the first time Tiberian Sun is being made and using the original game as a design concept. This mod will also include the additions made in Firestorm so it is a remake of Tiberian Sun and Firestorm as one to what they should have been.New abilities and units will appear in Tiberian Sun Rising as well as new kind of gameplay altogether.
A concept by one of our new concept artists Dr][ft, the idea was to create a construction yard stylised for the Brotherhood of Nod during the Second Tiberium War, whilst still unique from existing Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun and Tiberium War's Construction Yards. This Construction Yard is a Subterrain Facility *half burried underground* whilst the rest of the construction yard is on the surface to bring material's up for Construction.
Cool its a pretty good concept I like it. But it would look better as awarfactory I think if u remove the stuff infront of the door.
The stuff in front of the door is a Crane, which reachs into the door to pick up equipment for construction.
Nod already has a unique War Factory design in Tiberian Sun which is what we intend to use.
Ok it does look cool though.
I think you should hold on to the good old facten Con yard, so it will be more like TS
hmm Interesting structure, it reminds me of the Temple of Nod and the refinery...?!
i kind of prefer the mcv to be a common unit and building that looks the same for both factions. same with the refinery and silo but then again tiberian dawn had a common power plant while tiberian sun didnt. still...
yeah but then they just seem like they have the same technology when obviously it cant be quite the same as they dont use the same? if that made sense,
Still its a great idea :D i like it
It looks cool but I still prefer the original TS one if you ask me. But it's your decision which one will be used of course. :-)
We'll part of the redesign is modernising TS in both its gameplay traits and visual traits. As Nod does have quite a unique style I want to give them a complete unique look in Tiberian Sun that is very much Nod in the 2nd Tiberium War style (not 1st or 3rd).
Personally I always felt Nod had too many GDI looking things in Tiberian Sun. Eg Tiberium Refinery, Construction Yard, Tiberium Silo, Mobile Sensor Array, Limpet Drones (theres more) but thats a fair example. Which all have been adjusted in design and appearance for TSR.
I agree with your assessment, it didn't make sense in Tiberian Sun, and If I were good with voxel editing, I would edit the origional game using this design. Looking forward to using this Construction Yard in the service of Kane!
I like it!
I love it! =D
Are all the concept artist positions filled now?
Not nessecarly, if you've got skillz and are interested in the position pop me an email
The concept looks very nice, but I think it would fit better closer to the C&C 3 era than in Tiberian Sun.
Many of the Nod structures in TS had more simple and solid shapes and more gray color compared to the amount of red. Looking at for example the war factory, the EMP cannon or the power plant, they look very functional, and not especially decorative (other structures are more decorative, but the large amount of gray compared to red makes them look more armored and militaristic).
In C&C 3, on the other hand, the designs are much more artistic, and look much more fragile (in some cases even to the degree where they look dysfunctional).
Anyway, my point is that the structure looks more artistic than most of the TS designs, and doesn't quite fit the style. Much of this is due to the large amount of red color.
The front part with the crane and the doors fit, but the back (scorpion-ish) part would fit better in TW.
I'd argue this is actually alot more 2nd Tiberium War then Third.
Our other concept artists have done a few that are clearly C&C3 in style, this one however really shined out as Tiberian Sun style Nod.
C&C3 has lots of glowy red parts and really dark black, this does not.
It reminds me a little of the Nod temple in Tiberian Dawn. But I agree with Chronosheeps critisism. Also, I agree with the guy who thought the crane was too small.
The thought of having most of the structure under ground is a very good one and I like that idea. How about changing the design to be more like the Nod war factory in TW? With a big elevator down to the underground areas where all the construction materials are?
I just hope you don't mean it actually looking like the TW Nod Warfactory, cause it was fugly IMO.
Thats exactly what I dont want people thinking of C&C3's War Factory, the Construction Yards design should be unique and stand on its own merits.
The Nod Conyard and the Nod powerplant in TW was actually two of the remnant models by WW for the old C&C3 project. They clearly distinguish from the rest of Nod's buildings, which IMO look like their main inspiration was "Star Wars meets LOTR Isengard and Mordor!".
ConYards in the Tiberium universe follow a certain pattern: Prolonged shape and a crane in front (excepting for the Scrin's Drone Ship); comparable with the CYs in RA replace that prolonged shape with a taller and/or squarer design.
I like the concept, but I believe that you should make it a little longer, add a crane (which you can stylize it later if you want) hanging in front of it and, as Chronosheep said, make it a little less artistic and more sturdy-looking.
BTW, if you are going to redo some buildings, does that mean that you'll also change the Nod Silos? I remember seeing artwork of them having a more pyramid-like look than the one they ended up using in TS.
Already been done :) its being textured soon
to be honest i rather have the old TS CY for the nod. this one looks like something that should be in CnC3.
Take a close look at the Tiberian Sun, Hand of Nod, War Factory, Tech Center, Temple of Nod, Obelisk of Light, Nod Soldier.
And you'll see this is way closer to Tiberian Sun styling then Command & Conquer 3 styling.
Yeah, I love this Conyard.
Reminds me of Moddb.com this.
Lmao I happen to be one of the Voxel artists on Twisted Insurrection. I've been doing a lot of new Brotherhood and GlobeTech vehicles.
@ symvolzzzz:
What a insult to the artist.
I think it's inique, I like it :)
@ HANDofKANE
My apologies i did not to hurt your feelings sir.
And i think i forgot to say i liked it.
Thanx guys,
I appreciate your opinions,
I'll keep it in mind, although:
IT'S IN!! YAY!!
Yeah! It looks like a real hidden base with high level of technology.
So cool .
i kindof like the art, but.. to me i see a sub. Refinery concept which had gotten the crane added later... perhaps if you removed the chimney and placed vents instead, that i think would be better. not to mention it could also help remove the confusion of the quite similar looking refinery and NOD CY... i dont know.. i just think they are too much looking alike.. although i really like it! it would just better suit the refinery....
just wait till you see the Nod Refinery
verrry well textured. but the chimney is a bit of a misfit.
This is pretty cool, I've seen this on Cncsource forum.
The unit was a subterranean MVC that when deployed looked like a snake/worm. It dug into the ground and deployed - great concept!
It was made for tiberian sun I think, as the logo says Command and conquer Tiverian Sun Uprising!

The concept says Tiberian Sun Rising, thats the same Artists work dude
Whoa! I hope it will turn out this good!
The original CNST yard along with refinary always looked Nod design (the original refinary definitly was) and they both have similar looks.
I think you should have kept the original construction yard for NOD and redisgned GDI's
Look at a yet unreleased mod for TS called 'Tiberian Odysee' and you will see how they have captured GDI's style perfectly
This construction yard altho a nice drawing looks like something from C&C3 and doesnt really look like a functional structure IMO
