I remember that you have to downgrade the game to 1.0 before installing most mods, so that probably still applies here.

To be fair, I'm not even sure if there was any effort at all. I simply copied the original maps from the actual alpha disk image and ended up with the exact same results. So "went through the trouble" seems very exaggerated in my opinion.
The only thing I was wrong about was the weapon placement, the alpha doesn't actually have world models for weapons, therefore none to find on the maps.
But being unarmed and the broken transitions are still exactly the same.
Those map ports are really bad. You have no suit, no weapons to grab on the maps, and the transitions don't even work properly.
Something weird happened with the 25 Anniversary update. The mod still works, but all HECU are now friendly towards the player and the BMRF staff, even if you shoot at them.
Open the .bat in a text editor and see if removing "-vconsole" fixes the issue. It's actually not needed without VR, and it also prevented me to play.
Could you add more resolution options please? 2560x1440 isn't available.
While there is 2560x1600, that's not 16:9.
This version has been outdated for almost a year, go to one of the thread links in the article to download the Ultimate Edition with the fourth episode.
Wow, you weren't kidding when you said soon on the trailer!
It's nice to have a port of the workshop campaign, but it is plagued with quite some unmissable misaligned textures, especially on computer screens.
So apparently, the game doesn't seem to like custom med-crategibs models anymore. I deleted it and that cursed explosive crate from Blast Pit doesn't make it crash anymore.

You have to backup the original map first, and rename the new one with the original name.
Yep, all good.
Same here, when starting the level, "Loading" appears for a few frames, then the screen turns black, nothing happens and the menu music keeps playing.
This is a Steam issue. I think they set the customization to use the folder sorting position instead of the folder name. Same thing with Source mods. It will also mess up your categories if you have more than one to sort your mods.
Is anybody else suddenly having crashes while using custom packs like this ? Especially with explosions.
Once again a great experience. It's always a pleasure to discover more of this universe's history.
I just got the issues on the coast levels, except for the broken transition. I also went in a house in d2_coast_05, and when I came back out, the car was gone.
Don't forget that parts of the episodes are already based on scrapped locations, so there's already a chance similar ideas would end up in the mod anyway. For example, in Episode 1, there is a part where we go through a zombie infested area under City 17. RTBR already has something similar after Manhack Arcade.
I just found what causes the issue.
This specific map doesn't seem to be fully compatible with the current dll files in Portal's bin folder.
The original Project Beta always worked fine, but is always stuck with default FOV set at 75.
So I replaced the dll files with the ones from the retail game to have the FOV slider.
As soon as I reached that part, it crashed too with the exact same error.
Since this revived version doesn't come with it's own dll files, it uses the ones from the base game instead by default.
Useful, but unfortunately not ideal, as you have to do repeat for every single map.
The game got updated again, people. Don't forget to recopy the files that are not from the MD folder into your game if you have sudden new issues.
Movie Duels has its own autoexec file in "GameData\MD". Maybe you could try putting the resolution commands there as you would with the vanilla game?
Thanks! I knew this option could cause sound issues on some systems, but I never suspected it could also break animation.
IKR? Every video I watched have them playing correctly, but they never did for me. No matter how many times I reinstalled.🤷♂️
Oh, I almost forgot. On my end, the cutscenes never really play properly. Most of the time, mouths don't move, and on Episode I ending, Yoda and Obi-Wan's dialogue keeps overlapping.
I don't know if this is related to the recent game updates (probably is as it never happened before), but I had a crash on Darth Maul's version of Encounter in the Desert as soon as the second phase starts, twice in a row.
Reinstalling fixes the issue, the updates probably replaced one of the common files between the base game and the mod. It might be worth looking into it once the Steam Deck releases, because I suspect those updates are for compatibility.
I checked in "hunger_css_content", the process extracted the folders inside, but they're all empty. So I had to do the manual extraction anyway. Can't know for sure if the process was faulty or my computer messed up, but if someone else has this problem, the empty folders is a possible reason.
So I did everything the automatic installation required, have Counter-Strike: Source and both SDKs installed, entered the correct paths, waited for each step to complete, and this happened when I began the 2006 build.
