Too dark, it's nice, but it's too dark.
I really hope it doesn't have eyes... T_T
Agreed. Too much.
Well... Except for Installation 04B.
I sent in 121 Athens Carriers, three quarters bombers and one quarter fighters, I destroyed the last Flood ship with 81 Athens Carriers remaining.
It's not impossible, you just have to think about it, you need numbers over tankiness and a higher ship-destruction rate than their infection rate.
It's completely canon. :)
Although, point made, I was really disapointed after taking the world. I did it in the middle of a multiplayer game, hoping that it would give me a major advantage, alas I was disappointed and had found that I had wasted my time.
Nothing wrong with that man. :P
Love the Spartan Helmet... A purely unmissable details once seen only once.
I'm guessing this is Failure, right? :P
What is the command structure of the mod team? Can we get details of the hierarchy/positions?
What is the communication structure of the mod team? Is everybody able to communicate with everybody else? If not, why not? And don't you think that it should take priority so that the team can be as productive as possible with the least amount of delay between decisions and actions?
How does one apply to be a part of the team? What are the requirements? Do you have a community team? Can we apply for those positions? Is there a limit to how many positions are available?
What is your ultimate goal? What are your current priorities? And what are members of the team currently working on? (E.G. Example is working on modelling. Blah is working on texturing. Etc. Etc.)
Mickey... Have you tried contacting other Homeworld 2 mod teams to try and figure out the hyperspace issue? Not to mention others?
Hiyya guys, I'm aware of the Facebook group, the forums, and the Steam Group (Primarily), but there's never anybody in the chat room whenever I'm on. What is the best way to meet people who play the mod and play games actively with them? The forums? Thanks.

As it says in the title, of the latest download, Alpha.
I'll tag VE to the title in future.
I want them to carry on with Universe, personally, as I'm pretty sure it was profitable by the end.
I'm actually curious, if the team is in a bad way of communication, how does anything get done effectively?
Surely it would make sense that every member of the team would know everything? Roughly speaking, of course. Or, at least, wouldn't it be a priority to set up communication in a stable manner? Even if it's just a single chat room in TeamSpeak 3 or some other program/webpage.
Currently no down-votes, yes, not previously; as for the drama... I can be as dramatic as I like! Thank you very much.
Never will. :)
Mmm, that's true, but I'd still like to see a version without. I mean, have you looked at two seperate versions, one with and one without, and then decided which looked better?
Perhaps sent both drafts to Unikraken or Canada and see their opinions?
Ultimately, after all is said and done, you might actually end up with a combination of both after realizing that some of it was appropriate and some of it wasn't.
On another note, as to motion blur in games, I'm probably biased as I also disable the option. (I'd actually thought that most players did.) Sure, it may be more realistic, but depending on your beliefs it actually detriments from the experience. But, as for my bias, it makes me feel sick and feel like the game is doing something unnatural. (Unnatural for a game, that is, not reality.
Constructive criticism only becomes an insult when you allow yourself to believe it is.
I'm not intending any of my comments, ever, to be insults. I'm sorry if people see it that way, but heh, that's just my way of giving back feedback. Hopefully people can see past their instincts and realize this.
Overkill on the blur.
Personally, I'd say you need to get him to create two different drafts of his videos/renders, one with and one without any kind of motion/distance blur. Why? I've hardly ever seen any kind of blur used in Halo. It doesn't look right - Not to mention that almost-all games don't use in this manner just because of how video-game engines are designed.
Heck, even post both and see what the community think, I believe that the previous video would have been a lot better without any of it.
Universe mod? I've no affiliation. This is the only modding project I'm a critical part of.
It doesn't sound like a Gravemind to me. The echo needs to be lost.
I would say that you should wait until the release. There's no point in wasting effort if the task is already being done.
Then again... There's always FX-Commander if you want a remastered race which, in my opinion, has way too many 'improvements'.
Not sure how I feel about this... If Hell's comment is accurate...
There we go! :D
The debris has since been removed or is in the process of being removed. The camera movement will be smoother in the final version - Don't worry.
Is it? Wasn't the point of downvoting to bury comments which should be deleted/not viewed? As far as I know, it used to be used to say whether it was a good comment or not, not whether you agreed with it - But I suppose times have changed.
Hooray... Downvotes for an opinion... -.-
Honestly, and this is either the textures or the lighting/shaders, it looks terrible in my opinion... Too plastic-like.
Indeed. I want those!
They're limited. Seriously limited. You're best of contacting other mod teams and asking for their team members to help you.
Thanks for the advice! I'll pass this along to our audio editor.
You can always review an alpha - Just account for the fact that it's actually an alpha and not the full version.
Honestly... I disagree. :/ The lights are too concentrated/solid/they contrast way too much with the rest of the planet. But I guess that's just my opinion.
Honestly... I think you should have just changed the hue of the existing UI. This looks... Kinda horrible. :/
Doesn't work for me - Chrome user here.
The texturing of the Vanig is nearly complete. We're are currently texturing the other models we have featured so far in order of their appearance in the campaign. We have not begun developing the mod ingame at this time.
I wonder... Is it possible to give each galaxy, except the Milkyway, a different color? Such as making Pegasus a slightly more teal/sea-blue looking galaxy.
Personally... I'm not bothered about the colors. It's just the shape and design overall.
Perhaps it isn't... Flat or plane-like enough.
It just doesn't look UNSC to me. Can't explain it.
Mmmm... Looked at the three images - I don't like the design. Just doesn't seem like it fits for me.
Inspiration was taken from the latter.
What Connor said, this is the equivalent of Chimera Station, the other station that you saw was the equivalent of Tanis itself.
Well, bear in mind, this is a very early concept.
One would assume that the 'edge' of the hangar is the subsystem.
It's... Too green. o_o
Perhaps make it darker?
I hope they are.
We'd never dream of abandoning this mod before it was fully released. ^_^
We'll be asking for testers when the time comes, until then, enjoy the news, images, and videos. :D
The current plan is that, as soon as the first five missions are done, we're going to release just those missions as a demo for everybody to play.
Could be it, either way, looks amazing. Keep up the good work!
This looks amazing. Well done. My only criticism would be that the hangar is a bit too bright, but oh well, that might be the look that you're going for with that.
It's nice. But I'd prefer it if the computer screen was actually the full loading screen.
I asked this on the homepage. They are planning to remake the campaign and remaster all the NPC races. Though they are going to finish the skirmish mode completely before starting on anything else.
Question... Why give the construction ship nacelles?
I think it's too wide... Perhaps have the 'wings' point down 46%?
So, the gravity well just slows them down?
Will this include some form of graphical update aswell? Such as the V2.0 mod?
1. How do you plan on balancing the two factions in skirmish, if this is the case?
7. So I see the arrows at the top, which I assume change the position of where you're looking. Do you then click on the name to bring up a description at the bottom left? I assume that the bottom right is the standard main menu as well?
1(a). Will you have the usual Mohership restriction for battlecruiser and similar class ships? The need to call in a shipyard in order to produce them?
1(b). Does that mean the Falcon will be a remodeled carrier, or just a standard carrier with stat buffs?
7. Are you able to elaborate? Do you mean that the menu will be an interactive map and players will be able to navigate and read about the sectors of their choosing?
8. What about the debris field in Koreth's Rift? Surely the Vaygr would attempt to look for weapons or technology there?
P.S. I'm sorry if I'm coming over a bit strong in asking you questions. I just have a genuine love for the Homeworld Trilogy and would love for a new chapter in that trilogy to be told.
Elaboration questions and some more that I've thought of:
1. Does that mean the 'Falcon' will be a remodeled Vargr carrier with new features and stat buffs rivaling that of the two other Motherships?
2. The Agamemnon? The ship featured in the original alpha build that is now presiding in the Karos Graveyard? If yes, please, elaborate! (This has genuinely got me excited :D)
5. Are you not understand the question? Or saying that you won't be looking for voice actors on ModDB / Online that sound like characters from the original game?
6. Will you be removing any units from the original game? Or perhaps adding some units from the original's campaign? Such as the Crew Transports and Low-Orbit Atmosphere Deprivation Weapons?
7. Will you be featuring areas of the galaxy that have been featured throughout the trilogy? Such as Kharak, the nebula of Kadesh, Koreth's Rift, Tanis, the Kadiir Nebula, the Lost Sea of Souls (In which I would personally LOVE to see the ghost ship!)
8. Will any of the events in Cataclysm be present? Even if mentioned? Such as finding the wreckage of the Naggarokk, or the Kuun-Lan's original lower half.
After the next release, do you plan on creating a campaign? If so, are you thinking of basing the campaign around actual episodes, or creating a new story?
(P.S. I totally have to ask this because of a fanboy nature: Will there be a Stargate Universe GC? Or, if the campaign is a new story, will the Destiny be featured? :D )
I have several, probably long, questions for you. If you could answer with the greatest amount of detail possible, I'd be grateful. (Whether you decide to give spoilers or not when answering these questions, well, that's up to you.)
1. During this campaign, will our 'mothership' be Makaan's flaship, a Vaygr carrier, or some new type of ship that is yet to be revealed?
2. Will you be featuring the discovery of the Vaygr core's discovery in the ice fields of Hethlim, the discovery of the Planet Killers, and how the Vaygr dreadnaught came to be under Makaan's control?
3. How many missions can we expect from this campaign?
4. Will voice acting be featured in this campaign?
5. If the answer to the latter is yes; will you feature the voices of Makaan, Karan S'jet, or any of the voices in the original game? (Obviously not the real voice actors, but people that could sound like them.)
6. Will you be releasing new additions to the existing factions? Such as new ships and research options?
This is a teaser for said unit profile. We can assume that they'll be releasing the actual unit profile a few days after launch.
Sexy. You guys are pumping out a lot lately. Well done.
I can't exactly tell anything from this image... Could you maybe record a video where you rotate around an object so we can see the shaders?
Thank you for supporting me. Perhaps they were downvoting because they want to see it too... Or maybe they didn't like my attitude toward Boden. Either way: Noone gets to tell a modder to do anything unless they're paying them with a full contract signed by said modder. And, even then, that'd be illegal for taking money to mod the game.
What you would like to see is irrelevant. They will post it when they're ready.
That next picture is a joke.
This is perfect. A job well done.
I don't think you understood. The theme was created by the modding groups composer.
I believe the Homeworld 2 engine only allows for the color of Hyperspace windows to differ only when the race itself is different. Not the region or class of ship.
He wasn't getting angry at them... I myself am considering un-tracking just because of the lack of evidence that there is a mod itself. Sanguinius' message was perfectly reasonable and understandable, unlike most people that just come here with a belligerent attitude and spray paint profanity everywhere.
You have no idea... How much I love you...
I'm up for it. PM me.
I agree, at the end it does look a bit spiky, make them carry on WHILE fading out.
one of them has a baseball bat.... LAWL, PLEASE SAY THESE WILL BE ACTUAL HEROES I WILL DIE IF THEY ARENT!
PS. whats your xfire? =P
i think its perfect, the spikes could be the massive engines to make the big hulk move, and the ends of the 2 wings are hangars?
thats what the nod harvesters say XD
they tested the physics of the map in a skirmish? (i always test in skirmish before making it a campaign level.)
can it mimic certain asteroids? specific to that map? also, can harvesters harvest it? also enemys shouldnt be able to discover it until it opens, not even scouts or advanced sensors.
USS - Sovreign (i cant remember how to spell it!) but its for the sovreign class off star trek
can we have it on a white render next time please? its a bit dark on my comp D=
yeh, on further thought it would probably cause lagg >.< thanks for replying
yay im a project >.<
i think it might be when u start a space battle, u know the camera always pans at the beginning, this could be the replacement but with any ship
ccould u double the amount of missle coming out of the needleship and half the damage of each missle? cos id like to see a massive swarm, ever if it was a little damage with each missle, KEEP UP THE GD WORK!
its a tech tree, not a game......
haha, that will be f****** AWESOME, SCREW YOU COVENANT B******* YOUR GOING DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!
