An explanation created at 06:15 AM - 18/05/2014 news

(For those Facebook users on WWHW3 that may be reading this, I'm Douglas Bacon, if you didn't know.)

I started this project in July of 2013, the team was building up quickly, and people were enthusiastic. Hell, to my amazement, I managed to grab the talents of Connor Diver who is now a concept artist at Mjolnir Software. I'd just gone through a difficult portion of my life I now have to admit. Most people didn't believe me seeing as I was also so cheerful and always alright with talking about it - Almost seemingly not to care.

Well, I'll condense it down for you guys, I'm now in my first year of College in the UK and am one of the oldest in my year group. (Which means I'm 17.)
My attendance in Year Ten: 27%
My attendance in Year Eleven: 42%
The reason? My father had finally been prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service just before Christmas in Year Ten for the countless crimes of child, sexual, & verbal abuse towards the entire family; as well as fraud of god-knows how much.

So, life was getting better, I'd had a shaky start to college in my first half-term but I'd pulled myself together and was doing amazingly well in my course... Not to mention how much I enjoyed this project and being the lead of it. And then it happened...

Around five months ago, my mother kicked me out, we had a massive difference in opinion on how to live. Neither one of us was right, she wanted to live in a museum in my view, and I bet I wanted to live in a pig-sty in hers. (It probably didn't help that she never accepted the fact that she needs further counselling due to the fact that she shows a complete and utter lack of interest in her son and his life - Which other people have now confirmed to me that I'm not the only one who thinks that.)

And, in any case, I was homeless. No income. No bed. After a week I managed to pull myself into college and was surprised to find that I have a bed offered to me by thirteen different people... Half of which I never would have expected such extreme kindness off of. Now, fast forwarding a bit, I'm stable now. I've just finished packing all my belonging and they're now where I'm staying. Which, if you're curious to know, is a private house in an outer-suburb village, which is just inside of the ringroad but is separated from the city, which is owned by my close-friend's parents who will be renting me a bedroom once my claim for Housing Benefit and Income support goes through. (Think of the latter two as a Housing Loan and a Maintenance Loan from university if you're not used to the benefit's system.)

I'll be making the claim at the end of this month, the bedroom is getting emptied and ready for me, admittedly with all this going on I've confirmed-failed my college course this year, and will likely redo this year in September, but that's merely a one year delay on my plans. So what now?

Well, we're a two months away from July, which marks Summer in my eyes; and that means I can focus all of my attention on this project and other personal matters I'd like to work on. Obviously, it won't just be myself that has more time, the rest of the team will be able to collaborate with me and each other and we'll push out some good stuff! (Perhaps, if we really push ourselves with my highly-guaranteed overly-optimistic estimations, we could get out a pre-alpha demo for you?)

(To clarify, this is confirmation that the mod is publicly in a near-dead state until summer, as things still need to be sorted and done before any reasonable show of work can be done. And, yes, all this time the team HAS still been working on with models, textures, and myself with script where I could... And it's all looking absolutely f*****g fantastic.)
