Project isn't dead yet, however because it is a community driven project sometimes life interferes and progress will be slower than hoped.
Going to reinstall it soon.
This makes me want to restart over again. Hopefully most bugs are finally goners.
Okay I'm not a specialist but I see in the comments why is pokemon mmo not shutdown and this would? I don't think it happens. Just like with game mods, as long as you don't make money you are completely free to do so. I'm not sure about this and correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought that you can only be sued for using Pokemon if you make money with it. And where this guys don't make money with it I don't think Nintendo will be a big problem.
Could you please also lift my IP-ban?

Can Thagarr please unban me on the forums? I will have time to study UnrealScript and 3d modelling in 3 weeks. Until then i'm not going to learn much but still trying it. If Thagarr could unban me I could finally see what you guys are completely up to and I think I behave quite well around here.

If i remembered correctly you guys were aiming for a playable alpha in the Summer right? Is this still possible to achieve or is it going to take a little longer?

do you guys allready have something for a city to start on. I think i find that most interesting. Also i think that buildings are a good way to start modelling because they tend to be quite squarish.
Very nice. I just started to try modelling yesterday for me but it will take some time before i get my skill higher but I will continue learning it and maybe in the future i can be of assistance.

I do understand that the ocean gets darker however on this render it allmost looks flat so that was the thing that didn't look quite right.
I wouldn't argue with you cause seriously i haven't been on the sea ever so you have more experience and more knowledge of it but it just seemed a bit off for me because the water in most other games is quite light blue.
Also good to here that you are still just figuring it out. i'm sure there will be much beautifull things coming where that came from.

I just noticed it that it didn't look quite like it, and i didn't expect you guys to change the water that drastical.
Nicely done that ship, however you can't see much details right now. For a starting vessel it looks nice.
Is this in UDK? Cause it looks like the water might need a bit tweaking. It seems to dark. don't know if this is how it's supposed but that wooden logs in water movie shows it a bit lighter which looks better.
The sails looks very bright so you can't see any details don't know if this is how it's supposed to be or that i needs some tweaking?

I didn't say 30K each cause that would be too damn high for UE3 to support i think. But around 15-20K a character would be very nice i think. Not sure how great it will look off course.
Most impressed by Killzone and Watch Dogs at the release btw. Console wasn't done yet, this was just a pc having allmost the same specs. Maybe it's even more powerfull.
Has anyone seen the PS4 reveal?
Quantic Dream was there (Heavy Rain,Beyond Two souls) they said that in Beyond Two Souls they're using 30K polys for a single character model.
This would mean that you can create extreme nice looking character models this would be very nice. I'm certainly not saying to create characters that have 30K polygons. I'm more if they use it for a single character than it must be possible to create nice looking characters with less but even for the crew having more poly's/tri's would be awesome if they are just extremely detailed. 3d and Textures.
How do the other moderators think about unbanning my IP?
My comment about the tris wasn't really well thought sorry for taking your time in that case. But it was more thinking on the long term cause obviously our computers will be more stronger and i meant more that maybe later more detail in the things on deck can be done.
The model now looks allready splendid. I didn't thought about the crew for a moment cause they must look very live-like too.
Maybe i'll try out Zbrush read somewhere that it doesn't require a good videocard and seeing that my laptop only has Intel HD 3000 inside that might be a problem for Maya and 3ds Max.
BTW the game is expected to be released in a couple of years right? Than 90K tris might be a little low seeing that a gun in MW3 on High Sets allready takes up 10K tris. to make the decs look like eye candy the tris might be upted a little seeing that a pc will easily run it when the game gets out.
However i don't know what machine you use to create the model. And do you guys all use now Maya 2013 or does some use 3ds max etcetera. Also Is there a concept artist for the characters. And does someone have Zbrush as seemingly looking on the web to be the best face modelling tool.
Under the tab Men are all the crew members listed?
Will they be lookable at for example what their best skills is so you can distrubute them better over the ship?

I think the game was released in german. but the mod isn't i guess. I believe however you have a german community for the game but it's not the same community as PiratesAhoy!
Armada how many tri's or poly's does this have?
Interested to see how much more poly's are getting used with this engine.
PostCaptain with the newest techniques that come with the UE3 or UDK i thought it was possible to have a dynamic system dat automatically breaks the ship down.
Might be that it is in UE4 i looked some movies of that too.
Don't know for sure however.
But that would mean that by point of impact your graphics card would calculate what hole would get in the model and will alter the model likewise. it needs more detail than New Horizons ships but looking at the first ships and that now more decks will be made i think it should be possible.
