Wonderfully heavy oppressively mood here !
Just for future consideration though, a bit of headstone design variety ( while a bit of extra work ) is well worth the effort. Mixing up some traditionally geometrically shaped stones would yield some added dimension(s) to a smaller area without crowding it or detracting from the atmosphere ( and you can get away with using less of them as well ).
The community is split about that for some reason. The one site says they didn't even notice I used the same stone over and over again and the other site says it was the first thing they've noticed. I found that quite interesting, but you're absolutely right. I didn't think that this piece would get to this stage though and it would have taken A LOT of work to get some new stones in there, so I just thought "what the heck, it's supposed to show the mood in the first place, don't worry too much about not having variety, it's just a detail".
Good call then. I wounder what dominant factor causes us to see one or the other and not the whole. Maybe some with more of an artistic imagination might notice singular elements over the whole...interesting thought though.
That could be an explanation for that. Also, the community was really split about the lightning, some said it kinda ruins the image, as it really looks like I didn't care too much about making it look good and others say it's the best part of the piece. But, in art people are never sharing the same opinion on works, because everybody sees art differenty, I guess.
Fine work! And nice detail on the tombstones there!
Thanks.
