Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs

Game review may contain spoilers

A huge letdown. Lack of sanity removed a huge element of fear from the game - monsters were just not threatening any more. The game didn't trigger a sense of fight-or-flight (mostly flight in horror games) in the player, it just seemed to say "look at this, this is scary!". Enemies were silly (see dubstep pig), encounters were not dangerous (injuries healed fully in <=5 seconds) and the maps were not dark enough. Storyline was extremely unclear throughout, I didn't know what or why I was doing things half the time. There was too much recycling of Dark Descent assets (plants, chairs, doors, urns, shelves, tools) which went as far as the pig ragdoll in a game that even has "pigs" in the title.
The game was also too short. I completed the whole game with no prior knowledge of anything in about 2 and a half hours. Puzzle solving was an insult to Dark Descent and FREE custom stories made by the community. The most complicated puzzle in the whole game involved picking up two gears and putting them in a box - and the gears were right next to the box.
Not worth my money. It felt like an elaborate custom story with a bad storyline. The only good points I can name are great voice acting and some of the map assets are good, like the moving machinery parts. All in all, this game doesn't deserve the title "Amnesia". Thoroughly disappointed.

The Four Horsemen

Mod review

Ended very abruptly, and the storyline felt very secondary throughout. Level design was overall exceptional and voice acting was possibly the best I've ever seen in an Amnesia CS.

This would have been a 10/10, but I felt that there wasn't enough emphasis on storyline, and custom monsters would have made it a 15/10.

Castle of Devastating Diseases

Mod review

Played this on my stream last night.
Overall I'd say it was an average CS. Premise was cool and the level design was awesome, but aside from those two things I really can't think of many good things to say. As the story developed it become more and more far-fetched (Calamine being invented with the same name 500 years earlier, and apparently the best doctor of the century never tested his medicine and doesn't know that it makes the condition worse, let alone never having heard that the exact same thing has happened before) and the levels started to take on a "rushed" feel. The room with the large pile of boxes had me jumping around for 10 minutes trying to find a way out or key item, dying many times over before realising I could just open the door and leave (not sure if this was intended - or if I glitched it somehow). This could have been made clearer. The scares however were well-executed as usual, and putting aside the somewhat silly backstory, a very unsettling atmosphere was present throughout.

-1 for deteriorating level design
-1 for patchy storyline
-1 for some levels not being clear
-1 for bad use of English

6/10!

In regard to the last point with bad grammar, I realise that English isn't your first language so it might not be fair to deduct points for this. However, if you like, I can proofread all your notes for you (native English speaker here) to make sure they make sense. If you want, I can also discuss the storylines with you and provide feedback before release. Your stories have improved since this one, however there is always more room for improvement. Aside from that, thanks for the story! :D
