well actually in FS2 if a ship used the afterburners you had an engine trail to follow for a little bit, so it could technically be considered canon to have the trails already

yes, it's 1.2.1, i've tried running in DX9 mode with a shortcut, i've tried launching the mod from within the game (using the mod browser), i've tried launching in DX10 mode with a shortcut, i've used the [crap-job] mod launcher, nothing
doesn't work for me; tried loading a map first so that i can get a feel for the controls, loaded great, albeit a little slow, but the sound issues.........then it won't even load that far

for those who haven't played Descent 3, the model they're using, is Thresher, one of the infected robots you have to deal with after a certain point
still, nice touch, Tailbot would have been better here, consider he has a gun in a mobile tail portion, but Thresher works

the Banshee is atmospheric while the Seraph is vacuum-based
Vista users need to run the game under admin mode currently, although a release that breaks this reliance would be nice
mine's actually the 32 bit of Vista, running on a twin core Intel chipset, on a GeForce 8600 GTS with 3 GB system memory

i'm having issues with the game
for instance i can't use all of the superweapons (no activation icons), and, some of the new units forcefully minimize the game when i use them to attack
also, when a match finishes, the game minimizes itself (this also did something to my task manager, forcing me to restart my computer)
nice, but i can't play CnC3 on my computer anymore (cursor's too laggy)
