Advice to people finding it too hard: take things really slow... make money and get better gear. stay out of fights and act like you would in real life.
I lowered my antialiasing and went from dynamic lighting dx10 to normal dynamic lighting.

Well I fixed the crashes. Turned down my settings a little and they stopped.
As for Misery 2.0 all I have to say is that its AMAZING!
The new surrender mechanic is so awesome!
I love how many new hidden stashes are around.
All the new items and mechanics are just so detailed and sometimes overwhelming in number and complexity.

Just a suggestion.
I noticed the ww2 scopes in 1.2 have a modern style crosshair. I always felt that it should have the classic V scope picture as seen here:

I also noticed that the m16 sniper had a scope similar to this which is kinda strange as western scopes are almost always a crosshair.
personally, I would love to see the russian style distance estimator scopes on the VSS and draganov to. Sniperelitegroup.files.wordpress.com
I feel keeping the right scope picture for the right weapon will give the rifles a more authentic feel.

well I just finished my first play through. First time playing stalker too. It was ******* awesome. Cant wait to play 2.0 guys.
you should make the alternative beginning that the major woke up in the bloodsucker lair... naked with only a knife ... and his ******* hurts. Hardcore.
its also reliable. Bolt action firearms are inherently more reliable and accurate then semi-autos, (less moving parts).
The Sako is one of the most accurate military sniper rifles on earth. The .300 magnum round is very powerful, and is designed to remain accurate and powerful when shooting at targets well over 1 km away.
So this rifle should be expensive (including the ammo), heavy (its a big beast of a rifle), and very powerful.
In real life this rifle would trump any other sniper rifle included in the game.
Ive stood next to a rifle like this when it was fired and i could feel a big shock wave from the gas escaping the barrel! ahaha
