Bisho736 - - 51 comments @ Unreal DirectX11 Renderer for UT, UG , Rune and DX

I've found a visual bug with any Picture-in-picture display in Deus Ex, the image destined for the smaller viewport ends up over the entire screen rendering any ability that makes use of that feature useless.
I know that you can't develop further for DX but I was wondering if this was a known bug or if you knew some sorta way around it with ini tweaks.
I'm using the renderer in conjunction with GMDX RSD2.1, New Vision, and HTO 2.0.

Man I'm so excited to see this thing finally out, I've been hooked since that original beta and I'm so stoked to be able to run through the full thing.

I don't have much in the way of influence but I know a few people that might be interested so I'll point this out to them :)

1. I'm running a fresh Steam install, completely vanilla with no other mods installed.
2. This is correct, when I launch the game it runs as completely vanilla with no reference to GMDX, none of the extra menu options or keybindings are present.
3. I definitely am.

I only attempted to run it through Kentie's launcher after I had issues with the standard exe.

I have no idea what I did but after a third clean install I've finally managed to get it to work. The only thing I know I did differently is that I swapped the vanilla Steam exe for the exe from the 1112fm patch.

I've been trying to use the .exe in the system folder but it just launches vanilla as I said in my first comment. There doesn't seem to be anything that I can do make GMDXv10 launch.

Nevermind, if I use Kentie's launcher all I get is a CTD when I try to start a new game.

Hey there, I'm having issues with getting the latest version of v10 running.

I decided to do a completely fresh Steam install of Deus Ex because I was getting some severe framerate issues (assuming I installed too many mods over one another) however since fresh installing I can't get v10 to launch at all.
V10 is the only mod that I've tried installing since the fresh install and for some reason the GMDXv10.exe just launches vanilla. I've tried setting launch parameters in Steam and replacing the vanilla exe with the GMDX one however nothing seems to be working.

I can make it work using the latest version (8.0) of Kentie's Launcher but from what I understand that breaks certain aspects of the mod? I don't really know what else to do at this point.

You're completely correct, I was running D3D 10 and swapping to something else fixed it all. On D3D9 my game crashes after selecting new game but that's most likely a problem with my copy as I have GMDX 10, Revision and 2027 installed at the same time, it doesn't crash with OpenGL. Thanks for the assist!
I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to this, I didn't realise that Moddb removed/didn't have comment notifications and I was just waiting for one.

Did this mod add a flat black glasses model to Simons in the intro? (haven't been able to confirm if he has these glasses during gameplay sections)
During the intro the Statue of Liberty head is also flat black while Walton and Page are talking about UNATCO, the head isn't black during gameplay though.

I don't know if I'd recommend actually giving it an actual playthrough but I really dug the cyberpunk aesthetic of the game Observer (by the team that did Layers of Fear)
It was super dingy and run-down, very bleak, very cool. The game itself is a walking sim/jumpscare sim but the aesthetic and setting carried me through the whole thing pretty well.

If you wanna go for some anime stuff I highly recommend Texhnolyze, it's from 2003 and it's a wild ride, excellent atmosphere and aesthetic. Also Psycho-Pass has a pretty good cyberpunk feeling.

I think this is probably gonna be one of the projects that's going to be completely worth the wait. Keep up the pace and it'll be done in no time, can't wait to play the finished version.

For the most part I've gotten the mod to install and run perfectly (running Steam version with the latest version of Kentie's Launcher, 7.0)
My only issues are that the skill and item descriptions don't appear to be updated and that I can't find a key binding in the controls menu for the use of secondary weapons.
The directory order in Kentie's Launcher is GMDX > HDTP > New Vision, however I can't change the specific order of the sub-directories as they're grouped together in drop down menus, I'm not sure if this could be contributing or not.
On a side note, am I supposed to be loading the Maps directory for New Vision? In your reply to Darkshard about the directories you didn't mention it.

(Also quick bug report, I went into the custom theme designer just to have a poke around, however once exiting that menu it changed my theme to some random colours and also replaced the theme I was previously using with "CustomMenu" and "CustomHUD". The theme came back after I closed and re-opened the game)

That all being said, from what I've played so far this is what I would call the definitive Deus Ex experience from a gameplay perspective. I'm barely skin-deep with how much I've gotten into it but it's already showing so much more depth than any mod that's come before it. Really well done.

Just a question, will the soundtrack be released to buy or to download at some point in the future?

Even though it's only an early development demo this is still absolutely fantastic, you guys have done such an amazing job with this.
Everything else is really well done, the atmosphere is perfect. The only things that I have problems with at this stage are little nitpicky things like grammatical errors and the like, and they don't really matter, especially not at such an early stage as this, also stuff like the limited sprint (which was easily fixed through the console), the absence of inventory and map screens, and the presence of the HUD in general, but once again, these are all understandable given how early this build of the game is.
All in all, simply amazing mod, really looking forward to the full release, keep up the good work!

I really didn't want to have to resort to SL, but it appears to be my last option.
I'll look forward to the 'lite' version, still absolutely love what you guys have done with this mod.

On an unrelated note, have any of you guys ever noticed a 1 pixel gap on the right hand side of any scopes black border? It doesn't affect gameplay but it bothers me like there's no tomorrow, it happened in vanilla as well. Resolution is 1920x1080.

I'm on the second lowest video setting so I'm assuming I'm not using DX10. I turned DX10 off before I even started as I saw it could cause CTD.
I am using 32bit, if that's it then I'm going to be enraged, of course through no fault of your own, I understand there are some things that can't be helped.
I don't think I need to, I looked through the log and it told me that "Not enough storage space is available to process this command" Do you know if it's referring to hard drive or memory space?

Absolutely can't wait for a patch for all these random CTDs.
Playing on standard lighting with most options quite low, I can play for maybe 10 minutes before I CTD.
CTD when I attempt to enter the weapon upgrade menu.
Also the AKM is missing its description text.
A nitpick I have is that some items tooltips go over the screen, not particularly game breaking, just a little frustrating.
HOWEVER.
The atmosphere in this mod is perfectly done.
All the new features are very awesome.
The new graphics are beautiful.
The difficulty is truly punishing, but in a good way once you get used to it. (Starting off for the first time and immediately getting 2-shotted by a pseudodog is not cool, but you get used to it)
All of this makes for what is so far the most immersive experience of the year, and I'm almost certain that it will keep that title until 2014 arrives.
All in all you should be very proud of yourselves.

Also, would I be right in guessing that the blood decals on the screen are to signify the fact that you're bleeding, rather than having an icon pop up on the side?

I'm loving the sound of Misery more and more every day.

Honestly, I think that Master is a bit of a walk in the park, as long as you don't charge into every situation and carefully plan out what you're going to do it's not hard, the only time I've truly had my back against the wall was when I was pinned down in the attic of the Zaton Sawmill with about 21 zombies shooting from every direction. The only time I've ever quit in a rage was when a Chimera spawned directly outside of Yanov station.

So, you can get food off of animals? I don't think I can contain my excitement anymore. I'm honestly looking forward to being in a situation where I have to hunt mutants to survive. THAT is what I call life in the zone. :D
From this, I'm guessing that an exoskeleton is a serious investment, as you'd need at least the upgrade that allows sprinting for it to be completely useful. Or has the exoskeleton been buffed?
Honestly, I've always felt exoskeletons were a little weak, although if you have the money, invaluable for their carrying upgrades.

I'm sure it could be said roughly, like, 2 times Master, 3 times Master, something like that.
I don't know, inventory management has been extremely important in my Master playthrough, at least up until I got my exoskeleton (Hoorah for the carry limit upgrade)
Heh, I could tell you some stories about bad situations, Master difficulty has pulled quite a few fast ones on me.

How will the difficulty in Misery compare to the standard difficulties in CoP? I'm currently two thirds of the way through a playthrough on Master difficulty, which I'm pretty much using to get ready for Misery, how much harder with Misery be comparatively?
