I wouldn't be insulting him in terms of saying he couldn't handle a lore-driven game. This is Chris Avellone, this guy has written for Baldur's Gate, Fallouts, Planescape Torment, and the recently released Pillars of Eternity to name a few. He knows his **** when it comes to story writting.

He's talking about the corruption missions (the ones you can do during any GC) Space Bespin is indeed broken because of the dominator replacement for the normal interdictor. The space mission for Corulag gives you 4 vengeance frigates to fight 3 star destroyers and due to balance changes thats basically impossible.

If you have the steam version this is likely a data folder problem. While most mods only install a file into the mods folder, bigger ones like RAW and AotR install files into the data folder. Though reinstalling should fix it, I think I've had trouble where the reinstall just put back the modified data folder. Try deleting your data folder entirely, emptying the recycling bin (just in case), and then verifying the integrity of the game cache. Again this is for steam so if you use CD I don't know what your problem is.

Agreed, having a unit list or even better a downloadable manual are super useful for mods like this that add lots of units and making one doesn't require very much effort.

You should have this be an easter egg where you have to have one really random planet and on that planet you need to have 5 different land buildings and the sixth slot can build a "Pimp-Machine" or something like that to make this unit. Not sure if you can actually have a building that requires five other buildings to be buildable though.

Defense definitely needed a buff but for me the big problem is that IR is just straight up better than NR. Galaxy gun has no counter except for blowing it up however the enemy will put it deep in their territory so you can't reach it without directly destroying most of the enemies stuff. I think the nr needs some sort of galaxy gun jammer that keeps the galaxy gun from firing on the planet its on or all that factions planets. This will allow the ir to have and use the GG but they need to sabotage the nr jammer to use it. Second is praetors, they have no good counter for nr in terms of ships. This means late game if both players have the same skill, IR wins outright. Praetors needs some nerf in power or maybe a higher cap so you can only had a few. If these two things get fixed you'll take a big step towards a more balanced mod.

Speaking of that summary it claims you are only adding a "few new units" which I don't know how you define few but that's a bit more than few for me. I'm not saying change your mod in any way I appreciate all the work and keep it up, but maybe change it to something more correct like "This mod wants to keep the original FoC experience by improving graphics, and adding new units that keep close to the original games designs and Star Wars canon.
