There was an update or some news once a year around christmas/new year for quite a while. So we can assume it's not dead, until it's mid-january and there has only been silence.

Currently on Arma 3. There will be an Arma 4 version. The team is experimenting with Reforger, but its low priority.

Armilus - - 56 comments @ 2021 News - more stuff for Cabal

The Cyborgs we see in the CABAL screenshots look exactly like those Nod has right now. Unless those are just placeholders or Nod is getting new ones, it would mean the two Factions would have the exact same units. And in C&C3; the factions don't even share the MCV or the hervester, and Carnius didn't change that. In TS, Cabal used GDI Juggernauts as artillery. During the GDI campaign of Firestorm, nothing stopped us from building juggernauts and using them against CABAL. But as nod, we had no access to any cyborgs after CABAL went rogue. Standart Cyborgs were replaced with elite cadre. CABAl made a big point out of transforming as many civilians as possible into cyborgs, so even tho Nod has made extensive use of cyborgs before, it would make sense for someone who sees a cyborg to think CABAL instead of Nod. So building cyborgs again could cost Nod many potential followers.

Plus, Mechs were used in a full scale war on the battlefield. If there's any point where you notice that the things you build aren't cost effective, it's when you use them for real, and need to rely on them. There's more than a year between the end of TS and the beginning of Firestorm. Loads of time to correct any logistical mistake in a noticeable way.

I think the Cyborgs are an instance where that's understandable. In the campaigns of Firestorm, Nod didn't have access to any cyborgs after CABAL went rogue. Them just rebuilding their cyborg armies after their AI tried to wipe out Humanity with them... Not saying it can't happen, but I find it hard to Justify.
It's not like EAs "Mechs were abandoned because they're too expensive and conventional tanks are more cost efficient." Well, why were they ever used in the first place then?

Obelisk of Darkness could attack both ground and air.
Limiting it's successor to only one of them would feel like a downgrade.

Warcamp and Workshop are... Well, Cubes. The pillboxes don't really say much. But other than that, fully Agreed.

They were made available again. But I would argue, as soon as CABAL is playable, Nod should loose access to them. I mean, Nod couldn't control it's cyborgs while fighting CABAL and had to use different units. Why change that?
But I'm not a dev, so I'm as clueless as you are.

That would be interesting. A different idea is them running away and either fading out of existence or running towards civilian buildings to stay there.

I read that the Nod Powerplant in TW was originally going to be the CABAL powerplant when Westwood was still in charge of making their version of C&C3;. I think the egg shaped powerplant fit's CABAL better than Nod. So if any powerplant needs replacement it's Nods. The 3 towers do fit CABAL too, however. I wouldn't use them as a powerplant tho, but as replacement for the Hand of Nod with a name like cyborg factory or cyborg production facility. It would need a tweak, such as a door...

Personally, I dislike a lot of the changes EA did. I liked Tiberian Sun a lot and TW often feels like a middle finger at it. TW is a retcon to TS, not a sequel. It's a sequel to TD that delibaretely ignores TS, safe for the one page summary of the main storyline. As such, I don't like GDI having mammoth tanks and believe they should go to the Forgotten, and GDI should use 4 legged mammoth walkers instead. MK2 in TS was a prototype, and that's why we could only have one at a time. I don't agree with EA that red zones should be barren wastelands. Sure, the big tiberium glaciers are cool, but they pose no environmental challenge and aren't nearly cool enough to replace mutated flora and fauna and random ion storms.

That's my personal rant, however, and I don't think it's representative of the majority of players.

Armilus - - 56 comments @ Nod Divination Tower Radius Effect

Divination towers sound like they'd eventually pay for themselves. But isn't there a risk of Tiberium growing right inside the base where soldiers may potentially be walking around?

You do know there are people who will try that out, right?
Also, that technology would only exist after the Firestorm Crisis, or am I wrong about this?

Not dead. Still working on it.
This Page has been a bit neglected.
In our Discord, there's more stuff to see and more activity.

Is red tiberium possible?
It did exist in the Firestorm Campaigns, even tho in small amounts.
(No it was not a bug. It has higher value than blue one. So it's not blue one being rendered wrong)
Maybe as an addon by someone from the Community?

They claim they are optimizing and finishing up, meaning release should be soon-ish. Scrolling back, they claimed that for several years, with no changes to what they are saying how far they are. When I joined their discord, they were talking about a late 2020 release. When I left they were talking about a mid 2021 release.
I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed to 2022 already. The more I look at the comments here on Mod DB, the more I start to think this Mod might be a fraud as a whole.
Some of the feautures promised sound way too good to be true. And carnius, the creator of Tiberium Essence, says they are impossible with the engine.

If the team isn't working on this anymore, they should donate their assets to a different team or make them publically available.

Agreed. Tiberian Sun is an amazing game and Mods like this make sure it never truly dies no matter how hard EA tries to kill it.
