Over the years I've managed to get my hands on the wonderful S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, and I'm very happy that I did. Call of Pripyat is the latest release of the series, this game focuses upon the time period after SHoC. The protagonist, Alexander Degtyaryov is sent out into the zone to locate and find out the reason the military's helicopters failed and crashed. Enough about the story (I don't want to give out too much information), overall I found the game quite fun although there were still a few nitpicks that I had with it. The sounds for the weapons are what really get me kind of pissed, they sound terrible and are partially recycled versions from the other STALKER games. I know that modders will fix them up, but GSC should really step up and get some better sounds for their weaponry.

The STALKER series of games have been known to be buggy, both of the earlier games had to be patched quickly in order to prevent game breaking bugs which were rampant throughout both games. Call of Pripyat on the other hand is the most stable STALKER I've played yet. Not a single crash at all.

Overall, this game is totally worth it. And you can use the sexy DX10-11 effects without much lag!
