We don't have a Deck or a Linux system to test with.

All I know is that you want Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer [upcoming] and the mod to run through Proton compatibility. You might have to test earlier versions of Proton if the latest don't work. Can't help you with Deck-specific stuff like the controls.

You must put it into sourcemods, have SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed and set that to the upcoming beta branch. This is all mentioned in the included readme.

mat_hdr_level 2 in the console should fix this. You only need SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer set to upcoming beta branch.

The devs have said there's no plans for the Arctic levels for a few reasons.

It's redundant to assault a major Combine facility, then go somewhere else and do the same and kick off the Uprising, only to raid the Combine headquarters at the end.

There's also not much to go on with the Weather Control, while we have a better idea of what might be going on at the Airex. Plus, doing the Arctic would imply having to make assets for that environment, which isn't going to happen.

Why not just release what's already there anyway?

If you really think you won't have time to complete it then it'd be much better to just allow people who are interested to play through it. As painful and annoying as it might be, it's better than playing nothing at all.

This way it'd allow people who followed the mod to appreciate it better than a video ever would.

I think he means that Gordon holds it by the magazine.
Why? Because they wanted to animate it like that, in vanilla he only uses one arm.

Why would you equip the other one when this one is much more powerful?
There's also how you already get it as the airboat gun, the fact that it seems to be too large to wield, and that you only find it once in the game so you'd only be able to equip it once which seems pretty pointless. Effort would be better spent on other features.

I'm pretty sure he's supposed to hold it incorrectly. He doesn't even know what it is so I don't imagine he'd magically know how to use it properly.
Edit: Watched a gameplay vid and he's meant to hold it upside down.

You probably shouldn't be giving out very specific deadlines, just make sure that it's ready when it's ready. Having a deadline just increases people's expectations and disappointment when delays inevitably happen. Might make you want to rush instead of taking your time.

You're right, though if the AR2 being a recycled IRifle makes its current depiction dumb so does the reload animation as it was also recycled from the OICW and repurposed for the AR2. The whole thing is inconsistent.

As for the magazines it could just be that it's a container, we find almost all of our ammo in containers or bundles rather than in magazines that we directly load in, exception being rockets.

Way I see it the magazine should be replaceable but with each pellet still holding 30 rounds, allowing soldiers to carry much more ammo for less weight. Of course that's probably way too difficult to translate into the game itself.

No **** Sherlock. It's not about whether the AR2 is an alien gun because it is, it's about how giving it a nearly identical loading mechanism and the same ammo efficiency as human guns doesn't help its image of being advanced alien tech.

While the AR-15 lacks those little arms it doesn't need them to feed ammo in the chamber. Sure, this may have some additional moving parts but it does exactly the same job at feeding ammo as a human gun.

Good work but I feel this way a lot of mods portray the AR2's loading mechanism takes away from its origin as alien technology and instead makes it more like a human gun. The original made it seem more efficient by being able to carry 30 rounds in a single pellet.

I think you could return with Dark Skies to make something smaller, a few maps instead of the entire Beta game remade. Kinda like the Missing Information team did, just focus on your preferred chapters.

It could probably be the AirEx and the wasteland, or something like that.
