Any chance to have an installer for "old" version 2.602 of the game ?
I have little interest in using it via Steam.

...but didn't you precisely that in version 2.602 ?
Wasn't Russians ADDED to the Standard factions ?

There are a lot of other mods that work in 2.700
I don't think is anti-cheating related....at most they found a way, using anti-cheating enforcing as a cover , to exclude this mod.

Notice that CoH2 was onsale at crazy prices this weekend...

Trust me, "The Powers to be" want this mod DEAD.

It's not 2.601 but 2.602...see in your game Library....
I have this game in DVD but also at Steam (yes, i bought TWICE :) but only use DVD version that like you know is limited to version 2.602...anyway....

Go to your game Library in Steam...
What you should have installed is :

Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)

...remove local content so it will be removed (right click
on game and select PROPERTIES then LOCAL FILES tab then click DELETE LOCAL GAME CONTENT)...

There should be also several other games in your library, like:

Company of Heroes
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

...install those...that's version 2.602 ...

You are supposed to install 1st the last version that supports 2.602 (EF 1.7 full), go to folder and copy from it the referred DLL to somewhere else in your PC, like the Desktop, uninstall that version of EF, install EF 2.1 , overwrite the DLL of EF 2.1 with previous one saved to your Desktop.

However, according to that page, there seems that there is still an issue....i dunno what he means exactly with what he says...

What would be great is that EF devs made a specific DLL to make it fully compatible with 2.602...

Well, i for one, i'm very pleased with EF support again 2.602 version (both for Steam and DVD editions).

It shouldn't never be dumped as a safe guard taking in account the SEGA background and all the deals between companies with Relic not even be responsible for the patches but some company that....better not say what i think about them....

...and for the ones that want to play online, better make a free account and start to learn to use Tunngle and/or Hamachi.

Keep the good work , EF Team :D

My builds are always mini-ITX and very small sized with 2.5 storage drives...that's why i mention those HDDs.

Notice that if i wanted , i could modify that build to use a 4TB 3.5 HDD *and* a 2.5 SSD if i sacrificed the ODD...but if i wanted to sacrifice the ODD (that i don't want to do so for now) i would instead use two 2.5 HDDs , one with 500GB more than the other to be short stroked and where the software would run and remaining space for storage with 2nd HDD to mirror that storage so i could have an internal full storage backup that could be run at max possible speed w/o use of external drives, cables, etc.

AJSB - - 175 comments @ MeatBot - Multiplayer Bots

Hi,

Received some emails lately.
Thx everyone :)

My modifications include already the human player capacity to sprint.

When sprinting weapon stance changes.

Human player can only sprint for some seconds and then he/she is forced to walk...player then needs to stand still or walk to recover (to recover player can't keep pressing running key).

The amount of time when sprinting influences time needed to fully recover.

If trying to sprint before fully recover, it can only sprint a proportional amount of time.

My sprinting modifications have no HUD indicators.

Sprinting at most only lasts for some seconds because i decided that way....if sprinting lasted too much , it put human players in a too excessive advantage vs bots.

Sprinting was added mainly to help cover longer distances to battle front faster and to help run for cover from enemy fire when we have no clue from where they are shooting.

My code for CoD2 is FULLY developed by me (for the better or the worse) and didn't get any help and / or did i read any code of others code to sprint, drop weapons, human bot names, etc.

I had personal problems in my life that now are a bit better (they are NOT health related but still very serious) that took my will to continue to develop my code for some time because i simply couldn't focus in coding...i'm now back in coding but at a different pace as for CoD2 and MeatBot goes because my program/kinda_of_mod covers a LOT of games and mods and i was neglecting them.

Don't get this in the wrong way but...

Please don't ask for early releases.
Please don't ask to hurry up.
Please don't ask when it's ready.

Making and repeating ad nausea that kind of questions only ****** me off.

It's finished when i decided so (i.e. i'm pleased with a minimum of visual quality) and / or is possible to my time and capacities to do so.

I'm not (a) official MeatBot dev (team member) , I'm just a guy that found MeatBot and decided to mess around with it's code :D

I'm using the DVD version of WiCSA and i like to make a question...

Is it possible to edit the game launcher shortcut and add an option to launch directly the mod ?

I would love to start the mod straight away without the need to go to WiC menu to load mod ;)

of CoH i have a dozen mods INSTALLED, of BF2 i have almost 30 ....should i go on ? I say this because....i have more than 50 games :))

You better buy a bigger HDD....in fact , TWO big HDD :))

BTW, check my last build with 1TB internal HDD:
Overclock.net

....and as soon as Seagate makes the new 2.5 9.5mm z-weight 2TB HDD, i will have one of those :))

We are talking about 2.602 version because:

1) Final patch for DVD version is 2.602.

2) Not everybody wants to play online (and yet, using Tunngle or Hamachi it's still possible to play online with 2.602).

3) Not everybody wants to use Steam (or Origin or Uplay or whatever online service that forces us sooner or later go online (and shove down our throats updates that we don't want/need that screw games or whatever)) just to play offline.

4) Keeping updated all Mods that i have for all my games (and get a occasional new mod) already consumes almost all my traffic limit, so, all services like Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc. that forces us to "phone home" just to play offline, are wasting precious traffic....traffic limits are very common with 3G/4G connections.

Yeah , i know, BTW, that would be a great idea for a mod,
the early years of the Blitzkrieg....or maybe with time Europe At War can be expanded to cover those early years of WW2.

I have also that mod...in fact . i have all major CoH mods and even against the AI, it's lot's of fun and challenging to fight against it.

BTW and FWIW, MC works perfectly with 2.602 so, whatever they did, it's not a problem per se for compatibility with 2.602.

Yeah, you are right about the name...i dunno if you changed name of Mod would break the followers connection (dunno how things work at ModDb).
I think that's a good idea not dump the Soviets, and , like you said, sooner or later there will be a solution in one way or another.

Do you think that if new version of mod still works with 2.602, the Soviets will work in it ? or you gonna fully disable the Soviets for now ?

Notice that English is not my natural Language so i'm not sure what are you plans taking in account the current 2.7xx situation with Soviet faction.

Well to be honest i purchased BOTH DVD *and* Steam versions of game (that's how much i like this game).

The thing is that my net have now traffic limit and i have now very little interest in play online and Steam needs that we connect online sooner or later and a series of issues, so now i no longer buy/play games that require Steam, Origin or UPlay.

With current traffic limitations it's already hard to keep up with updating mods for games that i have.

This happens to all people that use these 3G/4G connections with traffic limits.

I will report if it works with 2.602 :)

You gonna remove Soviets ?!?
One thing that i don't understood is why your references to Soviets when in West front there were no Soviet troops and after all this Mod is called " *Normandy* 44".

How you know the owners of 2.602 are a minority ?
EVERYBODY that bought DVD edition is using version 2.602 because there is NO PATCH for 2.7xx for DVD edition .
We are hundreds of thousands at least maybe even some millions ! (total sells of CoH was 4 millions copies).

Maybe we are simply not vocal because majority simply are happy with vanilla game and/or have anyway lots of CoH mods that continue to be fully compatible with 2.602 even if they are also compatible with 2.7xx.

Right now only released CoH mod that doesn't work 2.602 is EF (well, 1.7 version still works with it)...Yours will be 2nd.

Blitzkrieg Mod, MC Mod , The Great war 1918 mod. etc. are fully compatible with both 2.7xx and 2.602.

Please considered it seriously.
I understand that is a lot of work but even if EF devs make it work again with 2.7xx version there is no guarantees that in a 1 or 2 weeks there is a new "patch" that screw and turn to waste all your work again.

I believe that SEGA/Relic did on purpose....CoH2 sales might not be as big as they wanted and they might want to force us go CoH2 to play for East Front and buy DLCs so, what better way than than screw new factions overall in CoH to disguise they were targeting EF Mod in special ?

The fact that EF was greenlighted makes this even more plausible, you were greenlighted thanks to votes of EF *fans* and NOT by the wish of SEGA/Relic, YOU are direct competition for them and CoH2 and respective DLC sales.

Notice that even at Steam "old" 2.602 branch is still there...in fact when we buy on Steam, we buy the "old" version and not the "new" (it's actually impossible to buy the "new" version) , then we get the "new" for "free" and are free to install what we want...so players can play the "old" one if they wish.
Imagine all players gone to it and dump 2.7xx.

Best and safest option is to dump support for 2.7xx series and came back to 2.602, that way your investment in time and work with this mod is protected.

I understand that is a lot of work but as it stands now, all your work for that new version was wasted anyway thanks to SEGA/Relic actions and even if you manage to make it work with 2.700.xxx , there is no guarantees that in a 1 or 2 weeks there is a new "patch" that screw and turn to waste all your work again.

Yeah it seems that dev of this mod had a new version ready but thanks to new mini-update by Relic to main 2.700 version, it doesn't work with that version.

Same happens with EF Mod.

I say, screw that dev and release new mod version and warn people that it only works with 2.602 (assuming that it still supports that version) and that for play online we need Tunngle or Hamachi !
