Got the new movie on DVD yesterday, so sick, saw it in theatres to, such a good movie.

I would have to say that the movie, while not nearly as good as The Wrath of Kahn, was well done and refreshing.
The series needed a reinvigoration. If that means they have to change some things to attract new fans (not trekkies), then so be it. If you ask me, it's better to sacrifice some things and have Trek than have no new Trek at all...and there's always room for improvement.
I agree with you, I did say the same before the movie started.
Life means motion, sometimes we have to move on and get used to changes.
Hey does anyone know of a convention in or near Iowa? Id like to go to one. I thought the movie was a little disappointing... I like the tv series.

I have a feeling that this will be the best Star Trek Movie of all time because who doesn't like having something about time travel or a time paradox in Star Trek!
Looks good so far. Land units won't be easy to create, they can't be seen in the movies. Memory-alpha.org is a great site if you want to find details about anything in Star Trek.
I would love to see a shuttle taking MACOs to a planet. And IMO that old ship on your 2nd picture ( Moddb.com ) is too archaic to be used as a battleship in the time of warp drives. I like the idea of 3 GC maps in 3 different eras. But it is a lot of work.
Maybe you could post a short article about your mod here, that's more prominent than a comment.
