"Space, the final frontier..." These are the opening words of one of the most famous sci-fis ever created. The opening words of one of the biggest franchises ever existed. The opening words of Roddenberry's vision, called Star Trek.

The purpose of this group is to bring together everybody, who likes Star Trek, and to review the best games and mods based on this fantastic universe.

I hope this group will bring the local Star Trek community together, and be a place, where everybody can talk about this great science fiction, and enjoy the company of each other.

Live long and prosper!

This group appears less active then the Star Wars group. Also there are many Star Wars groups and only one Star Trek group.

There is no need for more groups. I am personally a big fan of Star Wars and is a member of multiple of those groups the only result they get are less activity than if it was just one and childiss bickering inbetween them.

Activity however comes on the members... When did you do something in this group last?

Imagine an alternative Star Trek History were Earth is divided into four super powers. The Eternal Empire of the Rising sun, The Greater German Reich, Union Of Soviet Socialist Systems and The Federation of Planets.

When comparing TNG to DS9 I'd have to say DS9's setting allowed for much more variety and thus made it a better series by the end. Granted the first two or three seasons were not nearly as good as TNG but the later ones almost made up for it by themselves when in comparison the later seasons of TNG felt drawn out & repetitive.

Where in TNG Picard and Q overshadowed pretty much all the other characters, DS9's crew was actually relevant and thus resulted in a more overall interesting and fulfilling series.

Personally I much prefer The Next Generation over Deep Space 9, I'm much more drawn to exploration and space combat. Though I'll admit the later seasons of The Next Gen. got a little boring, some episodes were even rather cringe worthy.
