"Space, the final frontier..." These are the opening words of one of the most famous sci-fis ever created. The opening words of one of the biggest franchises ever existed. The opening words of Roddenberry's vision, called Star Trek. The purpose of this group is to bring together everybody, who likes Star Trek, and to review the best games and mods based on this fantastic universe. I hope this group will bring the local Star Trek community together, and be a place, where everybody can talk about this great science fiction, and enjoy the company of each other.

Post news Report RSS Ages Of The Federation: This Week In Development #1

Citizens of the Federation, Senators of Romulus, Warriors of Qo'nos! It's high time that I returned. Your people cry out for data and details, for information and education. The Gul has returned in your time of need!

From this week onward, I'll be posting a weekly update with a little bit of information on what we've been working on for Ages of the Federation: The Four Years War and talking about some of the things you as a community ask about, either on the news piece from the prior week or indeed as comments on the prior week's development stream.

Development with the Dev's: Live!

Every Wednesday at somewhere between 7.30 and 8PM UK time (use google to work out the time where you are) we'll be running a live stream on my YouTube channel and via Twitch! Feel free to subscribe and follow using the links below:

We've been running the weekly development streams for seven weeks now! Feel free to take a look at the video and the attached playlist embedded below and watch as much or as little as you like. It's sometimes a little dry, sometimes amusing and sometimes informative - we hope you'll enjoy it!

I won't go through all the changes we've made so far this week, as we've got 7 weeks worth in the videos! It's masses of changes and I don't think any of you will want to read all of that! Instead, I'll include a short bullet pointed list of things we've worked on in some of our streams below. Please comment, ask questions, give advice, tell us your opinion on the direction of the mod, hell you can even argue about Star Trek: Discovery if you like!

  • Reworked the home screen and player setup screen;
  • reworked planetary and gravity well system;
  • the addition and fleshing out of the Federation, Romulan and Klingon playable races;
  • the addition of limited research (still early days)
  • the addition of neutral vessels defending worlds;
  • the creation of unique particles for some of our abilities; and
  • the creation of abilities themselves.

Catch up with us next week for another brief news piece where we'll talk in a little more detail about the work we've done on the mod for the last week and be out with a fresh development stream showing some of the changes!

Join An Awesome Discord!

The Stellar Parallax team (AOTF and STA3) has made its home in CoreyLoses' and GulSurvives' community discord. It's a discord run by modders and gamers for the modding and gaming community! We'd love to have a bunch of the Trek community join us in there - we're outnumbered by Star Wars fans and we need our community to wave the flag (CoreyLoses is the lead developer of three amazing Star Wars mods: Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War, Thrawn's Revenge: Ascendancy and Fall of the Republic). There's a link below, jump in and jump into the discussion with like minded people!

That's all from me this week. Hope you've enjoyed this little update and I also hope that you enjoy the weekly streams even more!

Ah, I feel its better to have progress put on paper, rather then being told with voice. Easier to remember, and understand.

The videos are more so others can see and potentially learn the skills as we develop live.

What I was thinking when watching the "A Ship is Born"-video is that these dev diaries provide an extensive amount of comprehensive information on modding Sins, something I have not encountered before (and always wished for). Bravo, guys!

Glad you're enjoying them matey. It's something fun to do for us. Hopefully we'll have some of our other team members join in and talk about what they do too soon!

I like the dev diaries and interacting with the dev team via the chat. It's definitely a great show of community for the dev team to see the progress in real time and in a visual way. It's almost better to see the development than actually play the mod!
Almost :)

Hi I was wondering if you could give us the option ingame or as a minimod to be able to double our fleet size capacity.
