I think prayer does work just not in the way some expect it to. This obviously leads to a lot of a deists and atheists who think not having an instant or direct action from God means he's inactive or doesn't exist.

Prayer is a necessity for a Christian.
God likes it when his people talk to him.

In fact, one could say it's necessary before he'll help you with something. Ask and you shall receive. Just remember, that what you ask be in accordance with what the Word says.

And beyond prayer there is praying on your knees , prostrations and good deeds.

The path towards virtue is long

Description

Personally I'm not a person of prayer but I think I could get behind meditation.

I don't think prayer is something that works anymore. If it's to praise God, I can understand it but I also think it's possible to worship God through works instead such as charity or good deeds.

Concerning prayer to cure an illness or deal with a problem, I believe God wants us to overcome things for ourself and that also, suffering must exist in the world for us to help one another. If life is a test, suffering must exist so we can work with one another to better ourselves and society.

I share the Buddhist view that all things exist for a reason and that we are meant to experience all things including death.
