Not the tool but the artist and the quality of blender is right up there with max and maya :)

From what I can see you really just need shadows, brighter lights, and some specularity.

Yeah, I agree with grinnock. In general, I use a few bright-ish point lights and some fairly bright ambient occlusion, and then I tweak random material settings (specular, reflection etc...) and such from there until I'm happy with the image.

Description

A high poly (subdivision/subsurf) Glock 19 modeled in blender, I'll eventually bake this into a low poly mesh for use in a game. No textures or anything yet...
