Really not a bad model could do with some detailing and following the reference more closely and some polygon errors to fix you need to make sure there is no polygons coliding and a structured spacing on geometry but not bad at all :)

It looks like theres something dodgy on the front pistol grip to me maybe not enough polygons but it should be much more curved surface.

From my experience no it can cause these creases or other visible issues.

You've got a LOT of details in the front of the model - but hardly anything in the body itself of the gun :/

Here is my 6000 Poly M-16
it take two day to make this model :) and it's my first high poly weapon model too :D
