Tomb Raider

Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Interactive | Released Oct 15, 2012

Fresh from academy and in search of lost relics, a 21-year-old Lara Croft journeys to an island off the coast of Japan aboard the Endurance, a salvage vessel helmed by Captain Conrad Roth. Before anchoring at bay, the ship is cleaved in two by an unforeseen storm leaving Lara separated from any other survivors and washed ashore. She must endure physical and emotional torture in order to survive the island.

Meet the woman behind the Lara Croft

Crystal Dynamics presents Camilla Luddington

A new video series from Crystal Dynamics documenting the development process behind the upcoming action-adventure Tomb Raider.
The new Lara

The series is produced by the renowned games journalist Geoff Keighley, and presented by actor Zachary Levi, perhaps best known as Chuck from the sitcom of the same name.

In the first episode visiting Zachary Digital Domain, a studio specializing in motion capture for a number of Hollywood movies - and even selling a lot of games. Here he meets British Camilla Luddington, recently revealed as the voice behind the new Lara Croft. Luddington has previously acquired a name through the series like True Blood and Californication. Tomb Raider is developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 The game launched on schedule 5 March 2013.

Seeing a modern adventure game reminds me of the article: "If Not Puzzles… What?". Got me thinking about how puzzles are made for a modern adventure genre and what their purpose is. Because the genre did die for quite awhile. I'm glad that it has been evolved into something truly fun, thinking mans action game.
