Fresh from academy and in search of lost relics, a 21-year-old Lara Croft journeys to an island off the coast of Japan aboard the Endurance, a salvage vessel helmed by Captain Conrad Roth. Before anchoring at bay, the ship is cleaved in two by an unforeseen storm leaving Lara separated from any other survivors and washed ashore. She must endure physical and emotional torture in order to survive the island.

The story about Lara becoming a survivor and tomb raider as we know her. It's definitely a piece that the puzzle was missing. Everything seems great about the game - charismatic characters, beautiful graphics, unique enjoyable gemeplay with convenient controls. I especially liked the controls and weapon modding/achievements and absence of annoying moments. Replay value seems great too, I'll definitely play it again. Also modern gameplay approaches are well combined with the old ones and there's that good old TR feel to it.

Came with most of the best style "Uncharted" mechanics, what were in the past inspired first, by old "TR" games, this you can't always see!.. But if you own "PS3" platform, it is a double win for you!

The tacked on multiplayer is dead, of course. The environment is pretty well made and the game looks pretty good in general. The combat is pretty good, character development is good.

This is legitimately an all-round good game, it just isn't great at anything, which in today's gaming environment is a weakness in itself.

Very good adventure game, loving it so far! I voted 10 out of 10 because it's an awesome game, there's nothing more to say really! Pure awesomeness! I chose 10 out of 4 things I focus on when reviewing, it's Quality, Length, Lag and Story (atmosphere and stuff like that is included in the Quality!)

Quality: Beautiful scenery all the time, if it's a wreck or not! Badass graphics aswell, the cutscenes are SO LONG xD Really good voice-acting aswell (yepp, I know its a huge team working on the game xD) And stranded on an island, awesome! BIG 9! Length: I haven't finished the game yet, but I have seen other upload like over 30 episodes, pretty long game for an awesome adventure like this :D Lag: I Haven't experienced any lag at all :) clean 10! Story: Seems pretty good and badass if you ask me, nuff said?!

Quality: 9 - Length: 10 - Lag: 10 - Story: 10 Seems pretty good :D Love the game so far maybe I will change my mind later on and rate lower or higher :D

Crystal Dynamics' have succeeded in every way I wanted them to. This is a realistic, human, Lara Croft.

Thank you Crystal Dynamics for one of the best games I've ever played.

The first Uncharted was originally inspired by Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider was was very different back then. The expanded and viable platforming we see here is similar to Uncharted, although Tomb Raider now does it way better, from the animations to the timed sequences, to the brutal deaths, to the survival aspects, collectibles, playground environments & larger areas (not just linear ones), perfect blend of puzzles vs combat, 70% focus on puzzles with 30% combat (whereas Uncharted is the other way around), intriguing storyline that makes us feel for Lara as she confronts new situations that take her out of her comfort zone.
Drake just strokes his ego throughout the game. Uncharted relies more on big set pieces with little logic as to how they come about).
Though its a shame we don't need to hunt animals except in the beginning :(

Its refined to the point where I think its taken the adventure genre forward, but Uncharted was the one that defined the NEW adventure genre by doing some of that stuff first, so it does deserve praise for sure. Just like the original Tomb Raider did with defining the adventure genre as a Indiana Jones puzzlesque-combat experience.

The problems of the game lie in its inability to give Lara any difficult choices to make which I think is crucial to making a good game. While Lara does undergo some traumatic experiences (being thrust into danger alot) we don't get to learn much about her flaws, what we do learn is 99% good things. Like being genius in her field of expertise, willing to take some risks, having a good eye for details & strongly independent with no love interest. She also starts off as ridiculously nimble capable of jumping over parts that would kill the normal person. Shes reactionary, what we needed is a hero with decisions to make that develops her character, we needed a character who has faults/issues.
