Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising, brings Westwood Studios' popular real time strategy game, C&C: Red Alert 2 into the FPS pespective, using the w3d engine. You will be able to experience, first hand, what it feels like to fill the boots of an Allied GI battling the communist might of the Soviet Union, or a Soviet Conscript vowing to take back what was lost to the Allies during the first great war. Classic units return such as the versatile Allied IFV to the mighty Soviet Apocalypse Assualt Tank to the gargantuan Allied Aircraft Carrier to the mad Giant Squids. This game features all of the units and structures for the Allied and Soviet sides from both RA2 and the Yuri's Revenge Expansion. The Apocalypse is Rising Commander. Are you prepared for it? (Credit goes to everyone who has donated and contributed to this mod. We shall not let you down).
In blog 176 we have the Nighthawk Transport, Rocketeer's Flechette Launcher and the new high quality faction logos!
Posted by TeamWolf on Apr 1st, 2010
Guy with a wrench has modelled us a new Nighthawk transport. the old one was a bit inaccurate compared to any references we had. He's gone away and modelled an SH-3 Seaking and adapted the blade setup and a few other things which made the Nighthawk unique. Now it's nearly ready for texturing! There are just a few final model checks to do.
The Nighthawk is armed with a front-mounted machine gun for self defence, but it cannot win the war for you. To be able to use the Nighthawk effectively, your team must coordinate it's infantry ranks to board the helicopter for air-based attacks. The Nighthawk can hold five infantry, so there is plenty of room for nasty surprises
poggel has been working on redesigning the Rocketeer's weapon ready for when it's rigged up. The rocketeer uses a Flechette Launcher that is effective against infantry and not bad vs light vehicles. More details on how the weapon will be utilised will come soon.
One_Winged_Angel recently spoke with Soviet_Deso and he sent OWA the high quality faction logo's that he did a while ago. They can now be seen on the website and One_Winged_Angel will be updating his forum signature to include them shortly!
We are also working on downgrading the quality for use in the game. dtrngd just got the allied logo ingame and it's looking great. OWA should have some pictures next week, but for now here's the logos to remind you of what they look like.
We are looking for extra staff members to join our ranks! What we are looking for in a 2d artist, is someone who:
PM One_Winged_Angel with your application stating why you would like to join the team along with any past experience. Please provide example textures, if you have any.
