I think you overdid it with the water on the walls... It looks unreal with the light rain.

Agreed but it is still a very nice effect.

The shadows running is a little irritating to see loop over and over, like said with the rain, its unrealistic if your trying to aim for that.

beside the door its an amazing UI in my oppinion
regarding the angle the rain hits the door, there shouldnt be so much water running down the other side.
Now it more looks like a waterfall...but realistic :>

Its a game, you either have rain hitting the door, or you don't. Its all the same surface. To split it into multiple surfaces makes it more expensive, and at what cost? ATM the scene loads in less than a second for me. This is a UI scene, for the background of the main menu. That means everybody loads it when loading the game. If I keep adding and adding and adding, sooner or later we are gonna be left with the problem of people waiting minutes just to get into the game, which lets face it, nobody wants.

As of right now, the menu system all loads in 1-2 seconds. THATS GRAVY. I know full retail game with dev teams of 100+ that cant get simple 2d image UI's loading in less than 30, and don't get me started on the videos, too.

Quick and snappy. The real juice will come from in the actual game, mark my words.

i dont wanna talk down your work, dont get me wrong. i only wanna suggest that the scene might look better overall if you just remove the water on the doorsurface completly.
Even if you leave it like that, as a ET- and ETQW-fan im really looking forward to this :)

nice work !
the light feeling is enhanced ... more atmosphere !
the walking shadow is also new and the watereffect looks much better !
if it´s a menu make tv scanlines/scratches and a bit of noise ...
i think that improves the menufeeling (more horror) ...

As per usual, I made some changes right after I uploaded the video... This is the latest version.

This isn't REALLY a ViDoc as such as I saved you all the horror of hearing me speak, but it does show the UI scene that displays in the background of our menu a little bit better.
