And don't worry about the broken fingers, they move so fast you don't notice them ingame.

This is awesome! You could add a skin that could be of a rarer occurrence than others, such as a Gold coloured weapon :)
no because no one around this area would bother having a golden weapon, especially not looters or russian soldiers, nor would anyone who actually had one use it in combat tbh

It was just an idea, it doesn't necessary have to be gold, anything custom like an easter egg or something would be amusing.

This is a great idea, I'm surprised that most games don't do things like this already...
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames had this a bit. There were several 'Assault Rifles', one being an AK47, the other an AK101.
That's the only other game I've seen with it, though. Great work!

The only thing that disturbes me is his finger... it shouldnt have this kinda "wave-like" position (hard 2 express when english isnt ur mothers tongue). It should be like a "line" of finger... omg this sounds so strange....
BUT u wrote down that we shouldnt worry so thats ok.
@MrGriggs, instead of a Gold one, they should have some with camoflague on them, find some Russian camoflague and add that on.

Here's what I don't understand: in Half-Life 2, you never lose a weapon after attaining it, even if it runs out of ammunition. How will we see the wooden version, for instance, if we take a polymer to begin with? Will we drop a weapon when it's empty, or be able to drop them with a keybind?

Well you can only hold a small amount of weapons, and if you do see another gun you can swap it for your previous gun. Also the npcs will have randomized weapon textures too.
Really cool huh, but the normal one is better.
PS: Try to make a better texture for the wood and the ammo, they don't look that good :|

I would definitely love to see a wrapped-in-cloth, or like a dirt-crusted version now that you mention it. Even if it wasn't included, what IS included has more than enough coolness to suffice.
