Mommy say's I'll get to see Santa Clause soon! All the kids go to the mall to see Santa but Mommy says that Santa is a fake. She's taking me somewhere to go and see the real Santa Clause! Mommy said he has a gift just for me! I can't wait to sit in his lap! Written by Ethan, December 21st, 2011. Festival follows the short story involving discovery, love, and playful imagination. The game will only last you 30 minutes at most and there is no replay value. However you'll find a suitable amount of mental stimulation in those mere 30 minutes. Festival also won R3 Year's End Festive Game Competition, in case that sways you over. I cannot give much information because there isn't much information to give. The story, while there is one, is stripped to essentials and so anything I possibly give I would consider spoilers. There's only two main characters, Ethan, and the other I can't give a name to because of spoilers. The game has a 100% original soundtrack and sound effects.

Freedom Friday is a neat idea, although I'd love to see a smaller selection of games and deeper content (some detail on the games' histories, perhaps some thoughts form developers, and players).

Also wouldn't hurt to clarify whether this is geared towards covering games which are "free as in Freedom" (which the title seems to imply, and which it appears that Festival and Sloth Patrol may not be), or stuff which doesn't cost money.

You're welcome to ask anything of me regarding Festival.

Desura never contacted me so I'm assuming none of the other developers got contacted when this news post was made. Seems they just picked the games out of a hat.

As I said, you want history, thoughts, etc. lemme know. To start off, Festival was a game made in at most a month (or a week, I forget) about a year ago for a contest. There were only two entries and Festival won.

But if you prefer something even more in-depth let me know. I'd just prefer not to cloud the comment section here with it.

They were more comments regarding format and content for the Freedom Friday thing.

I don't personally have anything to ask (I normally reserve my interviews for cross-platform stuff), but I do hope that others will use this opportunity to engage directly with a developer :)

Congratulations on winning the contest!

With regards to that, as I said, they seemed to just pick the games out of a hat, and did not tell us about this at all. I don't really have a problem with how they handled it, nothing was taken (since these are free games).

I am working on a cross-platform visual novel but I wouldn't have much to publicly say since it's a paid-for product. You can learn about it from the news article on the page for Festival.

Thanks! Though, the contest was a year ago. It was just some small forum based contest.
