Resurrection of Evil compatibility patch for Doom 3 Redux mod.
This is a quick compilation to make Resurrection of Evil addon compatible with Doom 3 Redux 2.0 RC mod by Clear_strelok.

Whats new?
Version 2 fixes all previously know bugs -- all the lights and sounds are now in place and work as intended. Grabbergun's target lock spinner is back. Added some improved character meshes (source is unknown) and enabled some additional self-shadows for monsters and NPCs.
This version also features customized HUD from Redux (2.0 RC Update 1). The HUD includes RoE-specific weapon and item icons modified to match Redux style.
Requires 6th Venom's Doom3 RoE HQ mainmenu. Supports Arl's Improvements for RoE mod.
This patch is tested to work with retail Doom 3 on Windows 10 x64.
Installation: place zd3xp_redux_compatch.pk4 (replace the existing one, if any) and zredux_arrow.pk4, and optionally zpakv00_splash169.pk4 or zpakv00_splash1610.pk4 matching your display's aspect ratio, into your Doom 3\d3xp folder.
Run using "+set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux" option (without the quotation marks).
Includes optional launch screen from Venom's mainmenu mod, modified for the Mars to look more round rather than oval, and hell1 load screen from Arl's improvements modified to bring back original pentagram (or whatever that is) symbol at the background.
Thanks for the "ROEdux" patch, with this the enhancements are complete in the OG game and expansions.

It works for me. Using dhewm3 1.5.1, zArl.pk4 in the \redux folder, launch command dhewm3.exe +set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux

I had to start a new game with vanilla ROE and then move your mod files over to d3xp AFTER I had a save I could load from. For some reason when I would go in to start a new game it would only play the intro video for ROE and then load the first level of the base game (redux) for some bizarre reason. Any ideas what would be causing this? I own the steam version of ROE, set to launch “w/ +set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux”
Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I only tested it with retail version of Doom 3, not Steam, as said in the description.
What was the reason for you to start the new game with vanilla RoE? Try deleting your initial save and then start new game with my mod.
Because if I tried to start a new game with your mod already installed it would only play the pre-rendered intro video of RoE and then launch the base game w/ Redux for some reason(Mars City). I had to get past the point where it was loading the base game, so I just played in vanilla for 60 seconds to get a save I could load from after I reinstalled your mod, hence completely skipping the point where it was loading the base game instead of RoE’s first level (Main Excavation). Sorry, I hope I explained that well enough.
Making a save with a different set of mods is not gonna help anyways. Delete it.
OK, I have managed to reproduce the situation that you've described. Let me examine it and get back with the answer/solution.
Steam version. Arl's Improvements for RoE not working correctly with this. I'm getting black arms on marines in the opening cinematic.
Just tried, all is fine with me. You do have main Arl's improvements file in your Redux directory, don't you? Arl's Improvements for RoE requires it.
Another thing is that you don't need zArlCompatibility.pk4 from Redux for Arl's Improvements to work with Redux.
Upd. I couldn't reproduce the problem you describe, so can't say exactly how to fix it.
OK, black arms in the opening cinematic reproduced and troubleshooted.
You need to have zArl.pk4 file in the \redux folder (not the \base folder).
So, in my case I was messing around with different mods, and what caused base game (Mars City) to lauch with Redux instead of RoE was flashlight mod yafm-hl.pk4, since it interferes the main menu. Removing it did the trick, now when I start RoE with redux it starts new RoE game (Main Excavation).
And you do have 6th Venom's Doom3 RoE HQ mainmenu file in your d3xp folder, right?
Just doesn't work for me,did everything asked,did the launch command thing but everytime it launches the base game,not the expansion.
So I copied the files from " 6th Venom's Doom3 RoE HQ mainmenu " , " Arl's Improvements for RoE " and placed them in the "d3xp" folder,I also copied the "VISUALS - Sikkmod Renderer " , " VISUALS - Widescreen UI " , " COMPATIBILITY - Arl's Improvements " from the "Redux" mod Options folder into the "d3xp" folder,then I added the added the command in RoE launch command.Don't know if there's anything else you should do.
"VISUALS - Sikkmod Renderer", "VISUALS - Widescreen UI" should go to redux folder, not to d3xp; "COMPATIBILITY - Arl's Improvements" can be dropped as it disables too much of Arl's features.
Send me screenshots of your folder contents and you launch shortcut/command line.
Upd. Another question: are you able to launch RoE from shortcut/command line without my patch? I expect that you are not. Please confirm. Regular RoE launch command is "+set fs_game d3xp" added after doom3.exe. I wonder if this one works for you.
Sorry for such a late reply,if I use "+set fs_game d3xp" it launches RoE just fine,the problem starts when I load the mod from the menu,it only lets me play vanilla.If I use "+set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux" the same thing happens.

OK, I've seen it. The only thing that I can think of is your autoexec.cfg -- it should only be present in Doom 3/base folder, and is not needed in Redux folder.
Also, you could try making a clean install of Doom 3 in some other folder, then adding Redux, then my RoE patch, and see if this works.
So I did a clean install,then I copied the Redux mod,then patch > your mod ,without any extras like Sikkmod,put "+set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux" , in RoE's launch options and same thing :( .For some reason it starts Redux from the get go now,probably one of the extra mods were interfering,but I still can't launch the RoE campaign.

You should be able to select "Campain" and "Scene - Erebus Level 1" and start the game from the in-game menu, provided you have Venom's menu mod added.
Do you play English version of the game? Other language adaptations may modify the main menu and thus cause launch of the default game.
Ok last try I guess,I will re-install RoE,then copy the Redux + Update files inside the "d3xp" folder,with the other options like sikkmod,improvements then your mod and should I add the launch option to RoE's launcher or the base game ? The game is on steam so should I try with "w/ +set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux”?
No! Redux must not reside under d3xp, but root folder!
Redux goes into its own separate folder under root directory, like Doom 3/redux. The whole structure looks like this:
Doom 3/base
Doom 3/d3xp
...
Doom 3/redux
The d3xp folder should include the following: my compatibility patch zd3xp_redux_compatch.pk4, Venom's menu zpakv00.pk4, and zpakratio_UI1609(Splash).pk4 from Redux; you may also want to include Arl's stuff zArl_Roe.pk4 into this folder. That's it. Apply the launch command to doom3.exe.

I was wondering if this patch works for the steam version of roe i have gotten the redux mod to work for the steam version np but cant get this to work for the exspansion on steam
I don't own Steam version of the game to try. Did you set steam launchr to “w/ +set fs_game d3xp +set fs_game_base redux”? Please let me know if you manage to run this, so that I can publish info for others.
Is there a way for it to work without the menu mod? It breaks my language UI.

Okay, so I'm using the Steam version of ROE and I can load Redux with ROE. That part works. However, the textures don't seem to be loading, the Redux optional .pk4 files aren't working (Alpha weapon sounds, Sikkmod shader, etc.), Nightmare difficulty is totally broken (I can select it and start a new game in Nightmare, but none of the Nightmare parameters are functioning), and the in-game screen goes completely black if I take damage. I have the zArl_Roe, zd3xp_redux_compatch, zpakratio_UI1609(Crosshair1), zpakv00, zpakv00_splash169, and zredux_arrow .pk4 files in my d3xp folder. The Redux folder is its own separate folder in the Doom 3 directory. Am I doing anything wrong?

Not sure if this was intentional, but this mod changes the shotgun to reload one shell at a time instead of two. If anyone wants to revert this change, you can open the zd3xp_redux_compatch.pk4 archive with winrar/7zip and delete the scripts/weapon_shotgun.script file.

Which version of Doom 3 do you use? I produced and tested the mod on Retail Doom 3.
So I'm not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, but although the patch works, the grabber seems to be stuck on "charging" when exiting cutscenes and is rendered completely unusable. I'm not sure if it's the patch causing it or if it's another bug, but I can't find anything about it anywhere else, so any help would be seriously appreciated!
Edit: There seems to be a new problem. It seems like my game treats looking up as the middle of the screen, and I can no longer look down at the ground. I can, however, look behind myself and it inverts the view, kind of like Dusk with no y-axis. It's weird.
