Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.

About Diablo III with 4 comments by St0rmified on Sep 24th, 2011

Diablo III will release in early 2012, Blizzard has confirmed.

In a statement, CEO Mike Morhaime said the delay is to allow Blizzard to improve the game before its release.

"With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible," Morhaime said. "However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready."

Blizzard will extend the Diablo III beta, allowing for further testing and "potentially adding more testers than initially projected," according to a press release.

"The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we're taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players," Morhaime said. "Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers."

No further launch details were released, but expect more announcements to come via the game's official site.

As much as this game sparked my interest for me to want to buy it as my first Diablo game, I really can't agree with the permanent internet requirements of it as my internet connection is already terrible as it is.

I'm sorry if you like Diablo 3.

I've always been a fan of the series, and I liked the third game at first. Then, all enemies became overpowered, all equipment and skills became underpowered, and the drops were useless. The story felt dull, and pretty much nothing could make me go on. I stopped playing in act 2.
Now, I'm deciding if I should go kill Baal again, or drop some time into DAO. It will be more fun than D3 at least.
All of this is IMO - In My Opinion. No rage please.

Im sorry you feel that way. I personaly think that the story and items get better at the end of act II. So maybe give it a push and you'll change your oppinion.

I reckon you should have kept going, the game does get better. Believe me, the last act is awesome.

I thought it was a great game, but it was terrible based solely on the fact it had to be a sequel to Diablo II. I reckon it missed the mark in a few places and the ****** aesop at the end about mankind's freedom to choose good over evil was just lame. It didn't quite live up to the still extremely playable and enjoyable game that Diablo 2 is and I don't think I'll invest in another character after I finish nightmare In D3.

The skills didn't really get underpowered, you just have to pick a skill/runeset that works together. I had this problem where I couldn't kill Belial because I was using the same ****** skillset I'd been using since the middle of act I. I sort of feel like this was done on purpose by the devs so that you explore the different combos, but it might just be that my choices were actually terrible.

I eventually changed my stuff and then the game just became too easy from that point, which I didn't really like. I'd like it if it was still challenging without being too easy or impossible.

Sucks what Blizzard-Activision did to this awesome franchise. Go out with a bang, I suppose, right?
