Crash Bandicoot Returns is a longstanding project. Originally proposed as a model on the site ModDB it 6 years ago, the project was finally transformed into an independent game after the long-awaited release of the CryEngine 3. Meanwhile, the project has continued to evolve, a team was formed but the inevitable decline of the game ended up being right project, the fault of a poorly organized team and a lack of knowledge for all of us in terms of programming and development.

Brilliant just brilliant. now all you need to do is work on his pose while he runs & stands & then move on to his other moves like the slide attack, double jump, & belly flop :) the supper tornado for Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped would also be nice to add if its not too much trouble.

I plan to add the "Double Twister's mode" and all other movements, but it will take time, so I would not have found a animator and successfully integrate suitable skeleton.

Great job, really like all the effect improvements. Checkpoint effect, so brilliant! I can see the resemblence with the old level as well, so well done on that! The Hud is very nice, good job coding it correct, can't wait to see more progress!

Getting better and better. The tornado animation is far away from perfect, but that's OK until you got the others done. Then you should work on the details.

Given you're working with CryEngine2, I'd suggest experimenting with replacing the current cartoon swirl-thing with an exaggerated motion blur. The exaggerated part would not only help "ground" the cartoon-y nature of Crash, it would also prevent the animation from looking TOO realistic.
EDIT: I do not have any experience with creating custom mods for Crysis; sorry if I made it sound like I did.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to integrate the tornado passing by a animation because it involves changing the way the engine interprets the source code for not bugue when moving along the way Tornado.

For this reason I used a simple rotation instead of an animation. But again, nothing doing, the current biped is not that of Crash, but that of Crysis.

Well the tornado for me seems kinda odd , maybe instead of little lines you might need to do it abit diffrently but i aint sure how exactly.

Also i do hope you make it run smoother / faster cause it just looks akward in a Crash game that its that slow

Ohhh sorry to say, gravity should be adjusted, and jump height higher instead of gravity reduced. Also, it seems crash takes a while to get up to speed, perhaps make his 'acceleration' higher and 'top speed' lower (lol)

Looks like progress so far. Too bad I'm still learning 3DS Max though as I would love to help out.

I notice that the HUD objects are treated as part of the game world (shadows, motion blur, lighting) so you might want to look into that.

wonderful. the animations could use a bit of work, but the effects are near perfect. so, when it's finished and released, will you have the permission to sell it? or for that matter distribute it publicly? i'd love to play this.

P.S. I feel you should strap together a beta or demo for crash fans who haven't seen this vid to realize ur serious about it. plus the demo could be mad fun :D

Description

Big update on the crates, and the Tornado's mode.

Now, Crash does a real movement and I do not need to detach the camera for that. I also created new animations for the boxes, including CheckPoint and life, and a new explosion's particle for the crates.

As some people have remarked to me, I also removed the shadow of the HUD :)
