Apr 08, 2007 Full Version 0 commentsNeuromancer | 2007 Tech Demo featuring 1 level of the game.
Neuromancer: A Cyberpunk Adventure Game. Based on the William Gibson Novel Neuromancer, the novel that defined Cyberpunk as a sub-genre of Science Fiction Literature and Media. An attempt to adapt the 1989 video game to modern 2D and photographic technologies. Please note that the release date is an estimate, it could take longer/shorter time to complete the project.

As work on Neuromancer is steadily progressing I've decided to setup a new forum for Neuromancer which some people have been actively visiting already. You are more then welcome to setup an account and join in on the discussions. The forums will be a main area for discussion of releases, in the event of a media release or some form of content release this area will be open to the public for a 48 hour party. Usually I'll try to keep you all interested with lots of content throughout that period.
Important news is that I am planning on porting the game to flash later on, this opens up the possibilities of running the Neuromancer game on MacOSX and Linux but also opens up the possibilities of console ports and mobile device ports, I do however have doubts over this as it is quite an ambitious task. Hence I'd like to know what everyone thinks because I'm not entirely good with flash at present but I'm learning. The PC version will be released first and will be notably more superior to the other versions in the event they are ever made. This won't happen until the PC version has at least gone gold. (as in the pre-launch part)
In terms of progress, I've been gathering information from the novel to determine a storyboard. Once the story board is ready and I have all the character descriptions written I'm pretty sure I can start creating the art resources and the initial programing of the new ARPAS system soon. The game has changed a lot in terms of design, it now follows the novel exactly and uses cinematics to tell the story. (they will be drawn by myself personally.)
Furthermore you'll find that the moddb profile and website have been taken down.. This is because firstly the identity change from Neuromancer |Revision to just plain Neuromancer: The Game sorta. The profile has been taken down because I exceeded my limit on characters. I'll be looking for a solution come ModDB v4 hopefully :D
Looking forward to your comments.

My PS3 died a few days ago so the port won't be happening any time soon. I'm looking into the graphics side of things as well as the script. Should begin some actual development work soon.
I'm working on the PS3 port. So I can't give u a solution apart from Install Linux on it :P but I've heard java apps work out of the box so its just a matter of figuring out how to get it booting.. if all else fails then the linux OS for PS3 may be a requirement. Its all experimental at this stage.

Good luck Cyber. :)
hey dude can you help me figure out hot to put this game on my PS3?
I got a flash card, do I just copy it on to that and plug it in to my PS3 or do I have some other krazy steps to go through?
Just confirming that YES work is presently being done on the PS3 port, just a few engine tests.
I'll be writing the first Design Bible (or movie script for those who don't understand) which will allow us to begin the first part of Neuromancer. The game has been divided into milestones according to the novel so the first phase will be Chiba City.
This means a lot of work on my end for this month.
