I'm expecting I'll probably be buying that one later on. The last game I bought at $60 was Red Steel 2, months upon months ago. Noire does look to be good though.

Halo Reach (rank wise, I want to get to the top)

Let me know if yer interested in multi. Most of us who play it add each other so we can fill a server.

Played a friend's copy of that.

I was shocked at how linear it was...

That, and how much it often felt (as I walked through certain set pieces) I expected some epic complex puzzle, and then I'd find out "nope. we just want you to put a portal here, and here, and walk through".

Still a good game, but it was actually less than I expected, and I was allowing much room for error in my expectations.

Nothing SP at the moment, but I've just finished Red Dead Redemption (very good) and I stopped playing Metro 2033 somewhere by the end (I found it to be an interesting game, but I'd simply have to force myself to go back to it ATM). Besides that - Team Fortress 2 (after a long time) and I've played CODBLOPS MP this weekend when it was free on steam (a good game but IMO not nearly as good as Bad Company 2). Oh yeah and I've played DNF Demo, if demo's anything to go by I seriously doubt game will score 60 on metacritic, I hate assholes who seem to have effed up a game I grew with, a game that made me a gamer half a decade after I played my first round of Golden Axe and Sokoban and Tetris.

MrTambourineMan, I have to agree about DNF. If I understood correctly what you were saying that is. A 2 weapon limit and regenerating health... How is it Duke Nukem with those things D: Not to mention the boring, small-scale battles (and that field of view.. oh my it gave me headaches). I'm really sad about me losing my copy of Duke3D, because I really want to play a good old skool shooter now :P I was hoping DNF would be like that, but nope.. not at all.

EDIT: Woops, I realize this is off-topic.. forgive me please!

As the creator of this thread -- it's fine as long as we get back on topic now. I honestly could care less about DNF, or Nukem games in general (they've never appealed to me). While I'm sorry the game is turning out badly for those who truly wished for it, I have trouble feeling sorry for Gear Box.

Also boys, got Halo 2 finally working for my PC...

Now if only it had a decent ending and lacked Gravemind..

Playing through ME2 again. I had to wipe my HD and forgot to backup my save, so ..yea. I need to buy Obliv on Steam so i can get the GotY expansion. Besides that, im planning on beating NV at some point.

I just finished Red Faction Guerrilla and Halo 2 recently, so I don't really have any games I'm playing, atm. Just a lot of modding, modding, chasing goats and more modding...

Same. Never played any Nukem games:P

Lol, I loved the ending! Too bad I can't play H3 or Reach...

You actually beat the final mission? I find it to be a kriffing suicide mission. I just got so tired of it and other questionable designs including the mission where RF leader dies, and they make you drive across half of the stinking whole map for no reason at all! that I just turned on all the cheatcodes and began randomly breaking everything -Red Faction, Civilian, or EDF- in sight. And to think, I got Red Faction because I wanted a sandbox game where you aren't motivated to just randomly shoot people.

And as to the Halo 2 ending... you just made my point. It's a broken trilogy. I do enjoy a good bit of Halo 2 (I actually predicted most of what they would do). Frankly, I'd be fine with Halo 3. Halo 3 doesn't make them nearly as much money now as it used to (it's generally in the 15 dollar range now), so would it be too much to ask for a PC port? Bungie even stuck in stuff for Halo PC gamers in Reach. Halo Wars would also be nice. That's all. They could sell Halo 3 and ODST together for 60 for the PC, and sell Halo Wars also for 60, and they'd gain both a growth in Windows 7 (as I would expect them to make it specifically for it) purchases and purchases of the games.

Frankly, with Reach and other games to hold out on console exclusivity, it just seems stupid now they haven't ported it.

Bah, now I'm ranting. I blame the ewoks!

Jun 5 2011 Anchor

For the final mission, yes, I did beat it...Sort of...I kinda...Turned the difficulty down to easy for that final level... *Hangs head in shame* Anyhow, I thought the game was pretty good, even though its plot wasn't the best.

As for the Halo PC games...Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Bungie didn't port it, a 3rd party developer did. H1 & 2 for PC didn't make much money for them, so they just decided it wasn't worth it to do the others. Sad, I know. But the ending of H2 was so evil, it was good! I love cliffhangers

Back to topic, I just remembered, I'm sorta playing through "The Ball" right now. I haven't played it for a few weeks now, but I do intend to finish it.

I'm playing through Left 4 Dead 1 Single Player, trying to think up of a good map pack or something I could make.

My suggestion would be to go for L4D2 instead. While L4D1 definitely has more special place in my heart than L4D2 the latter definitely beats first installment in just about everything, hell you even get old characters and NoMercy mission free (khm - NoMercy is IMO the best mission in whole franchise).

But don't they have storylines(No spoilers please, I haven't played it yet)? If so, then it makes sense to play the first one first ;)

I've only played my friend's copies a few times. Generally, No Mercy, the comic book made for The Sacrifice, and The Sacrifice, all suffice enough. Most of the other levels, imo, are forgettable. While the sequel focused more on action and special settings, it at least made the game play 10 times more interesting.

I usually have some trouble playing L4D2 on normal-aka-medium.

On L4D1, if I play it on Normal, I'm almost always a top ranker or near-top ranker. Maybe once I got 3rd place.

That tell you how much they amped up the challenge and gameplay?
