The Graphics Tighteners Thread

Me and a couple of my friends are going to start a group to help teams finish art for their mods. All of us currently attend Westwood College and are about to graduate in a few months. We are all desperate to create awesome portfolios and would really enjoy cranking out some art for you struggling moders. most mod teams need coders instead of modelers tough :/ but still a good idea

Depends if you include animation under the category of game art - animators are almost as rare as coders.

The other niche that tends to be hard to fill is character modellers - there's a lot of modellers out there who only do inorganics like environmental objects and weapons.

@Aaron - can you meet either of these roles? I'm not needing any right now, but I bet someone else will be

Yeah, me too... doesn't sound like n00b-attack here so why laugh at them?

they are allways complaining that they have to pay, and when it is free they laught in theyr face >.>
aaron, keep it up setup a groud and so and get the word around, if you allso offer animation i believe you might get alot of work

I personally think this is an awesome idea! Maybe my opinion is of a selfish nature because my own project is lacking at the moment in a few areas that your group may be able to help us with in the near future.

Anyway, I'll watch this thread and look forward to seeing your group profile when you get around to setting it up. I'll then contact you with more details and see whether or not you'd be able to help with a few bits here and there.

Come to think about it, I agree! However, I reckon he was just posting a simple introduction for the time being just to see if there was enough interest etc. Hopefully samples of previous works will be provided in time. (Sooner rather than later!.. Hint Hint Aaron! lol)

ahaha no if you guys have ever seen the add for that college the only reason I laugh is because they play into that pun. Not because of there ideas.

I'm not the best animator around because I havn't done it much but I assure you a few of my friends are very proficient. I'm also planning on getting some Westwood Programmers on board to help you guys out. I'm also glad some of you found the group name funny, that was the plan but I also want to build some recognition for our school. We're definately a talented group of people who just want some industry work experience. The group should be up in the next day or two and then I'll start recruiting people in. I'm really excited to help you guys with your mods so keep up the interest please! I model the shit out of characters too so please send them my way. Well, I've been looking for both an animator (for a cyberpunk platformer TC project), and an extremely capable fine artist / texture artist (for a Gigeresque level design project). If you have either or both of those hanging around, with work samples, tell them to get in touch

I will for sure tell some friends that you need their help.
