Not scared............. INFURIATED yes. I believe Matt and Trey are geniuses regardless of Baseketball, Orgazmo, or South Park. They are amazing writers more clever than most portray them as. This world is crumbling before us on many levels...thats what i am terrified of. |

The purposefully, thinly-veiled, immediately defensive language is what is most offensive to my sensibilities. Folk who want to provide warnings for what they themselves will not undertake or approve of do not use such language as "what they are doing is stupid" and "they will probably...for airing this show". Clearly the group supports any violent action taken against the creators of South Park and do blame both men for whatever occurs. To note, though, Comedy Central decided to, without the consent of Matt and Trey, block the depiction, not pull the episode, to my knowledge. Further, the lack of legitimacy within the Islamic community concerning revolutionmuslim.com is more of a reason besides free speech concerns to ignore the meager threats. The group and anyone associated with such an attack would find no safe haven unlike Mohammad Bouyeri could. Whereas extremists find such an action as getting the depiction blocked a victory or in the assassination of a man such as Theo Van Gogh, they would find no victory if they attempted to follow through with such a threat due to how greater the divide would become between rational, modern Islam and the vocal minority seeking destruction. |

Ridiculous in the extreme. Thats a thinly veiled threat, and they should be investigated by the police. Simple as. Anyone notice the foreshadowing in the episode clip there? |

Yes definitey I agree haha yeah Hey btw... I don't know how many of you are for like... warez and stuff... but all that aside I found the 201 episode on Piratebay, I figured its kindof a good cause and the creators would probably want you to see it. But either way I'm gonna post the link here, its also the censored version... so you can see just how f*ing ridiculous it got just before they took it off. (and no the bleeps were not added for comic effect, they were put in by comedy central... so... you'll see) ...What? just google it =P got a direct link now See, piracy has a good purpose sometimes! =P Edited by: Bluedrake42 |

Thanks bluedrake. I'm sure the creators won't be making any attempts at taking it down. They show all their episodes for free anyway. The only reason they have to show the edited one is because of comedy central; whom owns the rights for broadcasting the video, but i don't think they own the video itself. Edit: Aww i thought u linked the uncensored one!!

Suppose I had lived in the United States of Freedom™ during the aftermath of 9/11, and dared to make fun of the whole situation. -- Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats. |
||
Apr 24 2010 Anchor | ||
9/11 is more complex then this situation. A large number of people were murdered. This is a TV show.
Your freedom wouldn't have been removed. If you made fun of the situation, most likely nothing would have happened unless you were infront of someone who knew someone who died. I heard plenty of people mocking the situation when it happened.
It really is, it really is. ------- There is always going to be people who get angry when you do something controversial, but the punishment of death takes things too far. Edited by: NGS616 |

Im actually very pissed about the subject ... South Park has never ever been censored before on horribly racist and completely wrong things ... but to not have the balls to have a picture of mohammed or even mention his name on TV due some threats is fucking ridiculous ... I know its offensive to muslims, but they seriously offended EVERYONE at some point ... so why the hell would they comply to threats like that ... talk about displaying weakness ... I think the only logical thing to do is to threaten the people at Comedy Central to show the episode uncut ... (the irony alone would make it kinda funny to do ....) Also every episode of south park ever, legally ... problem is you have to be in America (or have a proxy there) to watch i think :/ ... Edited by: Assaultman67 |

nah you don't need a proxy, just gave another link because last time the episode wasn't on there yet :p and they censored mohammed in that episode because thats what the episode is about :p -- °w° |

tom cruise has seaman on his back... South Park is not known for it's intellectual properties. It's a satire nontheless and that's where its charme stems from. Children seing the world in a more responsible, sense-making way than the adults. Everything is about screwing with your expectations, however we got so used to Southpark that we expect to see offensive, rude and politically incorrect behavior. Humor is not only in the series for the reason to make us laugh our ass off - that's a side effect. Laughing in SP is mainly guilty laughs, about things we know aren't sanctioned by society, like shooting a killer whale to the moon. We're supposed to think about the stupidity of our real-life actions, and that's exactly what SP does best. They put a finger on open wounds and people's inability to communicate on an honest level with each other. Why is it impossible to draw Muhammed? It goes back to the roots that the faithful rejects posession. A nomad people only carry what they need for survival, they build no statues of god in their own image. So that's what it all goes back to - a belief that is perverted by the lifestyle of all Arab leaders, today. So in reality muslims should be outraged about their leadership or at least understand the root of their own belief. I doubt however, if South Park wanted to cause more than a stir and warm up some old jokes. Edited by: SinKing |

I think you're a bit misinformed SinKing ... After episode 200 a website called Revolutionislam.com made a threat to Matt and Trey (or Comedy Central) about what they were doing. The result was the heads at comedy central telling them that they couldn't even say the name anymore on top of not being able to display the person ... They then censored Mohammad's name because they had to and the ending "lesson" as a joke in 201 ... It's true they rehashed a lot of jokes in these two episodes, but there was a definite purpose for that ... it was to show just how many people they make fun of and how ridiculous it is to single one person out and make someone untouchable ... oh and don't forget the fact that groups opposed to south park were using threats of "blowing up the town" to try to get what they want ... respect. |

E.g. Mr. Bush. * * * Can I have Pastasrael in your USA? You would be happy to have an enclave in your small country. And I back it up by military personnel, and even better - civilians. Then I'll begin by occupying surrounding territories... haha. It all goes to Israel. And the USA along with the UK are responsible for that. |
||
Apr 25 2010 Anchor | ||
Yeah! Maybe Americans didn't murder (aka "win with") Native Americans?! Who's for creating Pastasrael in the USA with Native Americans in? That would be 'just' and 'fair'! Just like messing with the Middle East. First - Pastasrael in the USA, then Israel elsewhere. Simple. Justice. Freedom. Not "American" definition of freedom. |

Agreed. It was a nice way of looking back through their 200 episodes (there were many old characters and gags that haven't been seen in many years), while still showing that no one was off their radar. Celebrities, Gingers, Pop Culture icons, Corporations, SouthPark itself, and the obvious joke of being able to so freely show Buddha sniffing coke, Jesus looking at internet porn, and "the holy prophet of the Mormon religion is trying to fly up the nose of a deadly female singer" bit, but having the big controversy around *bleeeeeeep*. EDIT: (not even going to address all the issues with what Feil said, because he's just going to draw it out and put words in my mouth) Feil, rambling off your subconscious thoughts, polluted by internet news stories, doesn't make you seem smart.
Those Americans were pretty fresh from Europe. Some of them were even polish like yourself. All throughout time that's how most people have gotten their land. But things are different now, in our modern world. You're such a fool. All of this conspiracy theory propaganda and nonsense you post around here is getting annoying. Edited by: NGS616 |
||
Apr 25 2010 Anchor | ||
Of course they were from Europe! You think I don't take Polish stupidity seriously, as in that plane crash? You think I support Poles by covering things up or saying 'they were good lads'? BS. Conspiracy theory? What conspiracy theory? Haha. :-D LOL. Israel is an unjustly created state. That's all. Pastasrael must be created too, so Native Americans will have their place too. (Yeah, a sarcasm of "pastafarians".) @Dreads.maggs That's the problem. And then comes Bush in, rushes "christians" (TRUE loving and caring "Christians") to a new crusade. Good. Murder yourselves for Israel if you wish (because it all, along with 9/11 comes to Israel - the core of the problem). PS I don't care if I was a German or a Pole, or anybody else. That's the difference, ngs616. |
