Forget about Fortnite... Come and indulge in the Zone's twist on the Battle Royale genre without the screaming kids and the cringey emotes. Compatible with Call of Chernobyl.
EDIT (07/04/2022): This addon is no longer being worked on as I am pursuing other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. projects and mods for other games, though elements of this mod may be used in any future projects that I work on.
This mod makes all of the NPC characters in this game hostile to each other. This mod also makes them hostile to the player. Please read the entirety of this description before downloading this mod.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
- Please make a backup copy of your gamedata folder before you use this mod. A new save game is recommended when using this mod.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- You will be unable to trade with any of the game's NPC characters with this mod.
- This mod works well with the Azazel, Ironman and Survival modes. However, the most fun part about this is that the player's survival is not guaranteed. Take great caution with Azazel mode, though; the player may be killed instantly upon respawning!
MOD SETTINGS:
This mod comes with three settings. Each of these settings (sorted into separate folders) are numbered in accordance to their matching descriptions on this list:
1. This first folder doesn't make any changes to the damage resistance values of the player or any of the game's NPC characters.
2. This folder only makes changes to the damage resistance values of the game's NPC characters. These changes will make them die instantly upon being shot or stabbed. The damage resistance values of the player are not altered upon choosing this folder.
3. This folder is makes changes to the damage resistance values of both the player and the game's NPC characters. The game's NPC characters will still die upon being shot or stabbed while the player will only die instantly upon being shot.

Better than fear the wolves
You know what would be great? No respawns.
When starting a new game, all stalkers spawn only once. When you are the only one left alive in the Zone, you win.
haha the game would go on forever! And knowing X-ray one NPC might decide to spawn justtttt outside the map behind a hill or something.
It would be great if areas were locked down - the battle would be in one region, so there could be solid fights in Rostok for instance or the like. After that then idk what you could do haha
For the best experience, try playing on Ironman Mode while using this mod.
You can already do this, just by going into your gamedata\configs\scripts and for each level changing the files in \smarts by going from respawn_idle = xxx, and changing xxx to a massive number. In my own addon I've set the stalkers to respawn every 1000 years lol
Nice one. I'll give it a try when I get the time. Maybe I could issue you guys a "realism" patch with similar properties...
Also the reason it doesn't work with DA is that DA uses a different game relations.ltx file, I'm working on that now and I'll release on the DA addons page
Dead Air version is up in 1 hour and 30 mins
Moddb.com
Nice work! Would it be okay if I was to provide a link to that addon in the description of this mod?
Yup, and for extra plug-based reasons, I made an addon like this for Anomaly.

Dead air version possible?
I'll see what I can do. :)
Just an update; I've just tried to apply this mod to Dead Air. It doesn't appear to be working at all. It just crashes to the desktop upon launching. If anyone has access to a file or a script that can alter the mutual reputation between factions for Dead Air, I might be able to make a Battle Royale mod for it. Otherwise, experiment as you please.
Have fun, folks! :D
Thanks for trying dude hope someone is able to help out so it can be done

Try looking through the xr_actor.script, I found some line which are responsible for setting the fixed reputation for actor, look for game_relations.change_actor_relation (...) lines in it
But how do I help John Wick?
He has been lost to the Zone...
Ha too easy.

If anyone is having any issues with this mod at all, please notify me.
Have fun! :D
*make this a wish-granter option? w/ permadeath for everyone of course*
Installed this on clear CoC 1.4.22. Gives me error:
FATAL ERROR
[error]Expression : wave&&wave;->length()
[error]Function : CSoundRender_Source::LoadWave
[error]File : SoundRender_Source_loader.cpp
[error]Line : 65
[error]Description : Can't open wave file:
[error]Arguments : d:\games (hdd)\s.t.a.l.k.e.r. - call of chernobyl battle royale\gamedata\sounds\actor\pain4.ogg
That has happened to me a couple of times. Try re-launching the game. If that does not work, it may be because the .ogg file in the error log was altered at some point. Did you alter this file at any point?
Also, do you have a list of the addons that you are using with this mod (if any)? The error logs for me can be inaccurate when determining the reason for a crash (i.e. an error for a .script file when nothing was changed or overwritten). Another possibility is that any of your prior addons could have files that conflict with the files that make up this mod.
I havent altered anything, I even dont know what it means :D. And I have installed only CoC 1.4.22. + Battle Royale + Loot Patch.
I see. I'm using the loot patch and the starter weapons patch for this mod. I'll try to uninstall it and reinstall the loot patch again to figure out what the problem is.
I've just released a fix for this mod. This can be accessed by downloading the .rar file for this mod again. I've changed it so it doesn't rely on the pain.ogg file like before. I apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused (if any).
Enjoy the mod. :)
Hey, I just installed this addon and I'm having trouble with it. I extracted the file and put the gamedata folder into my Stalker folder and everytime I try to start a new game it crashes. I have A03,Fast Travel, Outfit Marauder, and Damage increase.
It may be the fast travel mod that's conflicting with this mod. I use all of the mods that you have listed with this mod and my game very rarely crashes. I don't use the fast travel mod, though. I'd recommend looking at any previous downloads of the fast travel mod that you're trying to use and removing any traces of the fast travel mod in your current gamedata folder.
Do you have a link to the aforementioned fast travel mod? I'll have to take a look at it.

Thanks for the help, I wasn't expecting a response so soon sorry I didn't respond. So I just need to re-download this addon and it should be fine with the fast travel. Cuz if I need to I will get rid of fast travel
Yes, you can now re-download this addon. I've fixed a few things with it, but I feel that there are some loose ends that need correcting in this mod.
I believe that the fast travel mod that you're using has a file or two that may conflict with parts of this mod. I'm thinking about looking into this further. I have my sights on this mod Moddb.com and I think that is the one that you're talking about. If so, I'll download it and see what's up.
If I'm incorrect, could you please send me a link to the fast travel mod that you're using so I can properly diagnose the issue?
As for right now, I'd recommend that you refrain from using the fast travel mod with this one if you think that they are causing any problems with your game. However, I would need to take a look at the fast travel mod that you're using to be sure about this.
Yes, that is the fast travel mod I was using again thanks for the help.
You're welcome, friend. Keep it cheeki breeki! ;)
Will there be a version compatable with 1.5r6 and AO3 Unofficial at some point?
Is this version not compatible with those versions of Call of Chernobyl? I was under the impression that this mod would work with all versions of Call of Chernobyl since it only alters the actor.ltx file, the immunities.ltx file and the game_relations.ltx file.
I'm also unsure about this mod working with any earlier versions of Call of Chernobyl (i.e. 1.5 R6), but I could test it out to see if my thoughts on this mod working for that version are justified.
this mod causes my game to crash every time i try to start a new game
heres the error
FATAL ERROR
[error]Expression : wave&&wave;->length()
[error]Function : CSoundRender_Source::LoadWave

[error]Description : Can't open wave file:

im not using any other mods
I sometimes get that error when using this mod. Try loading your CoC game again; that usually fixes the problem for me. If that doesn't work, I normally copy one of the .ogg (sound) files and rename the copy as "none.ogg". Be sure to keep this copied file inside the sounds folder that can be accessed directly from the gamedata folder.
Let me know if this works for you. Good hunting, stalker.
You can also change "heavy_breath_snd" in the "configs/creatures/actor" file, and rename the value to another sound file instead of "none".
Here are some ideas for a standalone BR mod:
- You are part of a squad of 2(1+you).
- There are another 30 squads in the Zone.
- Respawn of both NPC's and monsters will be slow.
- You and your squad will start with **** equipment
- Stashes are mostly trash and equipment from death NPCs are almost always bellow 50%. You also loot money from death NPCs.
- There are 5 places where you can buy and sell stuff from a trader. You get little for what you sell and anything you buy is pretty expensive so scavenging and killing is your daily bread.
- Every 5 ingame hours, a stash pops up on the map(to simulate loot drops). Those stashes are only available for 1-7 hours ingame before they disappear, to simulate looting from other squads. They contain many good equipment.
- Underground labs have extremely good loot that can't be found anywhere else. Deeper and more hard labs(X8,) have better loot than less dangerous ones(X18).
- You can only recruit new companions for your squad, from enemies that surrender.
- The goal is to reach the top 10 on the rank leaderboard and leave the Zone before the big storm kills everything in a certain number of ingame days.

Is there any possible fix for this?

So a few things.
I love it. Had a few great moments already with like only an hour or 2 of gunplay. But even after installing the loot patch I couldn't get outfits and repair kits from dead bodies. I then thought of installing these mods on a fresh install of coc in case I had previously downloaded a mod that conflicts. But now it crashes on new game. Are the mods supposed to be compatible with 1.4.22 or was I just lucky?
Still, from what time I played, I loved it so thanks for that!
crashes upon attempting to load a new game without any errors :( clean install of CoC, 1.4.22 patch
