An oldie but a goodie, the Tartan makes its way into the mod. While not buildable anymore due to the collapse of the Empire, many Tartans were still used by ex-Imperial Core worlds such as Corulag and Anaxes due to their surplus stock.

Hmm, could they not be buildable on the worlds that have a surplus stock, but you are limited to the number you can have?

I would assume they would be starting units in the core worlds.

The windows make this ship look huge, isn't it supposed to be about the same size as a CR90?

250m, almost as big as a nebulon. Cr90 is only 150m

Wow, EaW's scale is even more inaccurate than I thought!

See I like that you guys are breaking out of rock paper scissors combat that Vanilla kinda had going on. You know like "X ship beats Y Ship because it was built to do that!" No, that isn't how Star Wars works, X ship can beat Y Ship because it was built to, but Y ship can give them one helluva fight because it is a WARSHIP. And I like that you guys follow through with how Star Wars is.

Description

Designed by the Damorian Manufacturing Corp for the Imperial Navy, the Tartan line of cruiser still remained in active service for defense fleets of many of the ex-Imperial Core worlds. The Tartan was designed to be a cheaper alternative to the Lancer Frigate, and multi-roled for use as a combat fighter sweeper, a picket defense ship and anti-piracy raider. The Tartan had a decent shield generator and fast engines allowing for Power to Engines abilty, but suffered from weak armor, lending it to be easy prey for heavy capital ships. Tartans were equipped with 6 fast tracking AA turrets (same as DP20) which could not damage shields but were able to easily shred light armor hulls of fighters and unarmored corvettes such as the CR90. In addition, 8 dual light turrets were positioned around the ship for combating heavier shield vessels and frigate sized capital ships. The Tartan featured a robust targeting system, and allowed for Boost Weapon Power (diverts shield power to weapons) so that it could easily tear through fighter squadrons.

Model by Petroglyph, edited and enhanced by Burntstrobe, texture also

ability:
Power to Engines, Power to Weapons
