The Great War mod is a total conversion modification for Napoleon: Total War. It creates an authentic representation of World War 1-era tactics, strategies and general warfare within the game. Including stunning new visuals that include entirely new models and textures for equipment, vehicles and more, the mod immerses you into the era with brand new gameplay unlike anything you've experienced in Total War before.

lovely idea, and it looks good as well. It would indeed be cool to see a lot these markers close to one another. It would really sell the idea of a proper frontline.

Adds a lot more flavor to the mod and a lot more immersion, I like

It is a little too large. Maybe reduce its size slightly, so that the destroyed trees are proportionate in size to the already-existing alive trees on the campaign map. Or maybe just make the area that it covers slightly smaller.

This is just a quick test to see how it looks. I'll make a better version soon. The reason it looks so big is because it's on a hill side. When it's on flat ground it's smaller.

I think the size is perfect, the trees are proportionate to the green ones, the bad land take enough place, it's great!

Made me think about town damage as well. Annoying as it would be, what if you increased the repair time for structures to better replicate the devastation of towns or cities near the frontline. One brief siege of Belgrade, for example, would leave damage that could be repaired cheaply in a turn or two. But a back-and-forth battle for Reims wpuld leave every building at a very low level, taking far longer to repair; sort of a perpetual state of damage (and thus smoking campaign buildings) in active combat zones

That's a good idea. Im not sure if the turns to repair can be changed but I'll take a look.

Not sure either. It seemed like the ACW mod for ETW had longer times than vanilla, but that was probably a result of the Warpath DLC, not the mod.

This is bloody brilliant. You are overhauling the whole game and it is so amazing.

Description

I came up with idea last night to replace the cross swords battle markers with a small destroyed battlefield. This way when you have a lot of large battles in an area instead of having cross swords everywhere the campaign will start to look more and more destroyed as these destroyed battlefield markers show up.

What do you guys think?
