The Great War mod is a total conversion modification for Napoleon: Total War. It creates an authentic representation of World War 1-era tactics, strategies and general warfare within the game. Including stunning new visuals that include entirely new models and textures for equipment, vehicles and more, the mod immerses you into the era with brand new gameplay unlike anything you've experienced in Total War before.

Well technically it should be designated simply as the Karabiner 98. The 98A designation wasn't actually given to them until the 20s.

This is what Wikipedia says,
"The Karabiner 98A, adopted in February 1902, had a considerably shorter barrel than the Gewehr 98..."

As far as i understand wikipedia the "karabiner 98A" was introduced in 1902 whereas the "karabiner 98a" is basically just the name for the k98az in the 20s.

There's an old German book about German small arms called the Deutsche Waffen Journal that discusses this. The rifle you made here is not the rifle from 1902. The design you made here is from 1908. During trials, it was designated as the Kar98AZ. When it was adopted in 1908 it was simply referred to as the Kar98. In the 20s when the Weimar Republic was designing a new carbine, they decided to designate the former Kar98 as the Kar98A.

Will this be used by Stormtroopers, Cavalry, etc. or in addition to the Gewehr with all German forces?
