Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.

Description

Some of you have been asking us whether you'll be able to view the briefing videos when playing our Tiberian Dawn co-op remake missions.

At first this seemed impossible, because the Tiberian Sun engine refuses to play videos in multiplayer, and when hacked to do so, the game disconnected from other players.

But with some effort of the DTA R&D labs, this has now become possible and we've added an option for it to our client. This does come with a couple of limitations:

• You can't skip the videos in multiplayer; the ESC key will simply do nothing while the video is playing.

• To launch a game with the option, every player needs to have the latest version of the "Ingame Videos" Custom Component installed in the DTA client's Options -> Components menu. If any player lacks the videos or has an older version of them installed, the client will refuse to start the game unless the game option is unchecked.
